Hogwarts RPG Name: Someone messin' with mah post again; keep an eye out mamas...KPT: 16,325 | wait-what? iPods in the Harry Potter movies? Are you serious?? Oh, Mischa here been away for a while but I'm back! Now, okay-hold up! iPods in the movies? No Quidditch in the movies really got me mad! the only reason they're cutting out all these scenes is because they don't want the movie too long and that's stupid! To me they rushed through to get GOF finished. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | Heaven's no! I wasn't serious! I was being facitious about the Movie Director's seeming to be trying to "modernize" the films...leaving out more and more Hogwart's Traditions, etc. But, I don't really think it would ever go THAT far!!!!!!!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Moira Anne Weasley Fifth | tatewin it seems the ipod conversation we had went a little airy I was just responding to what was written not what would actually be int he movie. I read what tatewin wrote and answered in the same vein as what if I guess I shoud have put that in there somewhere my bad. I hope that they leave as much in the movie as possoible I hear that Dobby is out and that Kreacher is in so we know that much. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | Hey Oona! I am still following your "footsteps"! Lol.
I know I was being sarcastic when I said that, if WB had their way, they'd have Harry Potter chasing Voldemort down while riding on in-line skates and listening to an I-pod! I was using that extreme to show how the films seem to be turning more "modern" against Hogwart and wizard tradition. Unfortunately, too many posts have occurred since then and the intentions got watered down, that's all. Actually, to be totally honest, I might have been a little hard on WB, but the jury's still out! We'll see, but I don't think we will ever see Harry with an I-pod or inline skates, do you?......I thought not! Have a great day tomorrow!!!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sophia First | Do we have any events going on here... I know I'm only the Vice... but I was wondering if we could get something going...
In the Minerva McGonigal fan club I got the "Dear Diary" going. It is simply what you think he/she would right in their diary about a days work. I'll start. Dear John (I don't like calling you Diary, so John will have to do)
This morning I was up early becuase Phaux was wanting out for some exersize. After that I did my morning rituals of face creams and hair stuff. Kids only think I'm 400 years old. Ha!
Minerva tried to make the moves on my again. She's so subtle... it's like a club upside the head. Well, I do like her, but she always looks like she's mad at me. Oh well, back to work.
Albus. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | I was certainly being sarcastic! Anyway, back to our man Dumbledore. If he goes down in history as his character deserves, who do you think should be his true "representative".... Richard Harris or Michael Gammon? Who more honestly represents Dumbledore in your mind, and why? To me, there is only one choice....Richard Harris. He WAS Dumbledore in every way. |

Plus, he had that age about him that made him seem soo much wiser. Michael Gammon is a good actor, but I think he makes the character a bit too younge. It sounds like he's younger than what he was in the first movies. Maybe the character needs that kind of strength to get through the last movies, becuase the 6th book is very strong for him. |

Yeah...I like Richard Harris better too. Michael Gambon (sp???) is a great actor as well....But Richard Harris suited the character better.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | Yes! Michael is a wonderful actor, and this is certainly not meant to be any insult to him....he had big shoes to fill when he stepped into Richard's role.....how do you match perfection? Harris, unfortunately, was the perfect Dumbledore! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | Yay!!! I'm back...again! LOL. Once I got through with all my school stuff and was going to get caught up on here, my family started to have problems, so I had to focus on that for the past few weeks! But now, things are slightly better with the family, and I'm still not too far behind in school, so I thought I'd spend the night and get caught up on SS!!!
I agree with you all, Michael Gambon, while a great actor, is just not Dumbledore. I especially saw that in GoF. Richard Harris was the epitome of Dumbledore. He not only looked the part, but, as it has already been said, he was soft-spoken and gentle just like I imagined Dumbledore to be. Gambon, I think, made Dumbledore a little too angry in GoF. But, if we can't have Richard Harris, I suppose Michael Gambon is the next best person to play Dumbledore!!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | Welcome back, DracosDuchess! Some people are saying that they thought Richard Harris seemed too frail to play Dumbledore. They couldn't see him jumping off the cliff in Book 6, etc. I have to disagree. Dumbledore didn't come off strong unless he had to! Where I agree that Richard Harris was probably rather ill, especially when filming the second movie, Dumbledore was not! He could show forcefullness, as he did when he yelled across the main hall when the students were panicing over the troll. That "SILENCE!" sounded pretty darn strong to me! I still believe that Richard harris, despite being so ill, WAS Dumbledore. |
