Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | Hehe...I wonder what Dumbledore was like as a child! I imagine very curious, and slightly mischievous! I imagine him as a milder version of the Weasley twins! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | I'm sure he got into his share of trouble! He has that bit of mischieviousness in him for sure. After all, he did "accidently" set the curtains on his bed on fire in his fourth year...and he did hate them!
But he was also extremely intelligent, so I could see him passing all his exams with high marks, especially his OWLs and Newts. I could also see his as a Prefect and Head Boy during his time. I think he took his studies seriously and I could see him in a role of authority that way. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | I can imagine him with Hermione's brains, but I can't see them being very much alike in other ways. Hermione's a stickler for the rules, and like we've said, Dumbledore probably played his share of pranks. But I'm sure he was at the top of his class. As for prefect and Head Boy, I can see that happening, but I bet he was sort of leniant. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Moira Anne Weasley Fifth | I picture Dumbledore more like Remus was in school he would have loved being with his friends and was not afraid of a bit of mischief. He was there grounding force. He did set his curtains on fire but it was not on purpase. I think that he was very powerful even when he was younger and it was sometimes hard for him to control his magic.
I could see him as Head boy and Prefect but I think that he would have been friend first. I wonder who was Dumbledore's Draco in school. That one person that was just opposite in every way and no matter how hard that he tried he just couldn't get past the fact that they got on his last nerve. Also did he and Minerva go to Hogwarts at the same time?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | I totally agree, Oona! Great comparison! I don't think McGonagall and Dumbledore went to Hogwarts together though, mainly because he was 150 years old, and I don't think McGonagall was nearly that old! She was more likely one of his early students and he taught her Transfiguration and helped get her the job at Hogwarts. I have never heard of Rowling giving her an age. Maybe Dumbledore's antagonist was that evil wizard he later defeated, which would fit into my theory that Dumbledore's family was harmed by that wizard somehow! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | Yeah, that is an awesome comparison Oona! I forgot about Remus! LOL. And I don't think Minerva is anywhere near Dumbledore's age, so I agree with tatewin, she was probably one of his early students. As for his "Draco," I really don't know. I'm not sure how old Grindewald was, so I can't say if it was him or not. Maybe he didn't have a Draco. He seems to be a pretty tolerant and down-to-earth guy. |

Isaac Belko Minister's Office | I have a question.
If you could choose one sentence from the Harry Potter books that most relates, describes or goes with Dumbledore, what would it be?
For example, here's one I'd give to Voldemort: "There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it..." |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | I have developed another theory about Dumbledore and McGonagall. It makes some sense, anyway. Remember how tortured Dumbldore was when he drank that potion protecting the Horcrux inside the cave? Well, I have always thought that it related back to an attack on his family by the dark wizard Grindelwald. I think a lot of his family was killed that day, and there was little Dumbledore could do to help them. So far, we know that two would have survived any attack....Dumbledore and his brother Aberforth, and it seems as if Aberforth did not come out of it without some mental scars (goat incident?) But what if there was another survivor that was hidden away for their own protection, as we all know how dark wizards operate, going after family members to get to the one they want to hurt. What if that survivor was a sister - named Minerva (Dumbledore) McGonagall! She was probably young enough before 1945 (When Dumbledore defeated the dark wizard) to have been raised secretly by another family from whom she took the name McGonagall, if she wasn't married at any time, or the family name for protection! It is definately something an older brother like Dumbledore would do! Any thoughts on this? It would explain their closeness very well.

but I don't think that Minerva is a sister to either one of them. I would like to think that she was in love with Dumbledore however.
Here is a question that JK thought should have been asked but no one seemed to think to ask in interviews.
Why did Dumbledore have James's invisablity cloak when he could be invisable at will. In the first book he said that not all wizards needed a cloak to be unseen or something to that effect.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | That is a very interesting thought! I wonder, though, since James and Lily both knew they had been marked for death by Voldemort, that James gave the cloak to Dumbledore to give to Harry, just in case, so to speak. But, that would imply that they didn't know about the prophecy, and that Voldemort was really after Harry! Did they know? If they did, one would think they would try to keep the cloak in order to cover and protect Harry with when Voldemort made his attack. And, of course, that brings up another question! Would Voldemort have been powerful enough to be able to see through the cloak? So many unanswered questions! I tend to believe that James gave the cloak to Dumbledore in order for Dumbledore to enhance its abilities somehow and it will come to somehow protect Harry even further in Book 7...a dad's final gift to his son, so to speak. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Moira Anne Weasley Fifth | Great post there still are alot of unanswered questions about the cloak but since she brought it up on her site maybe she will give the answer to that question in the final book. I am going to head to a few other fanclubs but wanted to say goodbye and have a good weekend to everyone here first see you all on Monday. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | I agree, Tatewin! If the Potters knew about the prophecy, it doesn't make sense to give the cloak to Dumbledore to give it to Harry later on. So Dumbledore must have done something to it, to enhance it's powers. I hate that she gave us that question to ponder, because now I have no clue and just want to know the answer! (I'm very impatient!) |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | I have feelings about certain characters as to whether they will die. They're just instinctual, gut feelings, and whether they're right or not, I have no clue. As for Harry, my feelings go both ways! I certainly don't want him to die, but there's a good chance he will! Stupid instincts, won't tell me the end of the series! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | Rowling has told us certain characters would die and that one would get a reprieve! It is difficult to imagine whom she has chosen to elliminate! I just pray it's not Ron, Hermione or Ginny. As for Harry, I believe he will live! If it has to be anyone, let it be Wormtail, Lucious and Voldemort! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Fancy Taylor Fourth | Unfortunately, I fear that the good side will suffer some major losses. I believe that Lucius, Voldemort, and Wormtail will die, but so will Remus. I just don't think the Marauders will survive. And I have a feeling that Ron will die, a feeling that really doesn't have much justification, other than the fact that Ithink someone extremely close to Harry will die, and Ron just makes sense to me. Snape might die. I haven't decided on him yet, though. |
