The Music Tables The most important area of the shop is also the largest and usually most jam-packed. Wide metal tables take up the majority of the shop, each one laden with albums both old and new in various forms. There are so many tables that they are very carefully set up to just barely allow enough space for customers to walk past each other in the makeshift aisles. The tables, while regularly fixed to the floor, have the added benefit of being able to be banished to the back room by the shopkeeper to open up the floor space for shows and events. Unfortunately, this means that with each visit, you may find yourself searching for the table you wish to find, as it could turn up in a different area each day. |
MJ? Anyone? EVERYONE! WHOMEVER Eden was in London for the day to buy some potions supplies for Uni and had heard there was this cool new place in Diagon; a music shop! ABOUT DAMN TIME. She was pleased as soon as she slipped inside, letting the door close behind her. Ahhh. It smelled like a new store, and the enormous amounts of new music...old music...and ANCIENT music was astounding. She needed to take Phe here. He would LOVE it. Now where to start...where to start.... The tables! LOOK AT ALL OF IT. GAH. |

He had heard the door open as he was re-shelving some of the merchandise and he watched as a very attractive woman came in to look around. Atticus turned his attention away to finish his work, then he sauntered her way to see if she needed any assistance, or just to chat up another music lover. "Anything I can help you with, Miss?" |
The brunette looked up and smiled, giving him a little chuckle as she gestured at the shop. "This is brilliant! When did you open?" she asked, shoving her hands in her pockets and walking over to him. "You sell both muggle and magical stuff? Old and new?" she had spotted an Agro album a second ago, and it made her heart skip a beat, especially since she knew they were splitting up. Ugh. Broke her heart, ugh. "Is business going okay?" she asked curiously. "I live all the way in Cairo--else I'd probably be around here all the time." Since Eden loved music. BLED MUSIC. MUSIC ALL THE TIME. |
Quote:
"Cairo?" He raised an eyebrow. "That's quite a distance... Well, I'm glad you stopped in today. You seem like something of a music lover... Do you sing or play? Or just listen?" There certainly was nothing wrong with that, because it would be the fans to keep him in business. But he was curious, and nothing wrong with chatting up a pretty lady. |
Just last week, huh. Eden nodded and.......she really got a look at the guy. Like REALLY looking at him...and she thought she-- "I RECOGNIZE YOU!" she cried suddenly. "You sang uh--that song--what the heck was it called--FOE GLASS REFLECTIONS!" she was positively BOUNCING. "Wow--SILVER STREELER! Right? Am I right?!" She was right she KNEW SHE WAS RIGHT. She was excited now. And he was cute. Like. SO cute. Those tattoos...her blue eyes glazed over his arms briefly before meeting his gaze again. "Weeelllllll I'm mostly...looking for some old wizard rock...any chance you have some vinyls of like, Wiggenweld or...oooh any Cast Iron Magick?" She hadn't listened to Cast Iron in FOREVER. Ugh. "I just listen..." she explained, shoving her hands in her pockets and slipping off her engagement ring into her pocket. "I know people in the music world." Phoenix, mostly. |

Though he was somewhat used to the occasional random fan recognizing him, the woman's sudden exclamation took him by surprise. "Yes, that's right," he grinned. "I was in Silver Streeler. I was their guitarist actually. Atticus Zeller." Foe Glass Reflections was easily their biggest hit, but being several years ago, it sometimes got lost in the more current music. "You must be a fan," he added, giving her a charming smile. He was always happy to meet his fans. Especially very attractive ones. Old wizard rock on vinyl. Sure. "Ah, wrock using muggle means. Those are slightly more rare but I do carry that in stock." Many of the magical bands preferred the magical forms of delivering their music, but there were quite a few that also liked to put their music on vinyl just for the vintage experience. "That's right this way, Miss." He put his hand on her back to lead her that way. "Well," he smiled, "We do need fans. Musicians are nothing without them." Even if he played music for himself and didn't get into it for anyone else, it was important for people to listen and relate. And also buy. |
Bumble Bee/Willa <3 Jaxson needed more music and who better to help him was his wife and child. He wanted more smoother music to help soothe their little one while he was trying to get him to sleep. and plus for him to travel to work, Jaxson loved to take the train and having music helped the travels. "babe, if you like anything let me know" he valued her opinion because she had amazing taste in music and well pretty much anything |

Of course, Eden knew it was rare. So she didn't expect him to carry it in the store so when he SAID HE HAD THEM SHE BEAMED. "Oh MERLIN! You have them?!?!?!?! WOW!" she bounced a little on the balls of her feet and followed beside him, noting his hand on her back... Ahem. "OH wow...WOW...um...can you reach them? I..." height challenged, yeah? |

Family time!! She didn't know if this was the best place for family time but she would take what was thrown at her at them moment. She was having such a busy schedule lately. She just couldn't deal with everything at work but at the same time she really loved her job. |
Quote:
"want to help daddy pick out some music" flipping through more he took out one to show him. While his son was looking at the track Jaxson looked over again at Willa "maybe he'll be a rock star" he smiled at her. |

He had to chuckle at her enthusiasm though. And of course it was always his goal to make his customers happy. "Oh, yes, sure I can do that for you." The merchandise wasn't that high up, but he supposed she was a tad on the short side Reaching up, he looked through his collection of vinyls, pulling out a few from the bands she had mentioned. "You didn't specify which albums, but maybe some of these are of interest?" |
Quote:
Ahem. No confessions from her, though. Eden took the albums he had gotten and looked through them. How much was she willing to spend on music right now? And records, too. Hmm. "One of each band..." she mumbled to herself. She just had to decide which one..."Not too many of their albums are in vinyl," she spoke of Wiggenwold. "So I think I'll take this one--" she picked one of their earlier ones and smiled. "As for Cast Iron Magick..." she didn't know what to do. "Have you heard their bass player is doing a solo album? Do you think that's true?" Rocco Marsden, a solo album. Wow. |
What better place to hear a bit of juicy gossip than a crowded music store? She could hardly take three steps without bumping into someone by accident and almost all conversations were loud enough for her to hear so really, she was bound to find a story or at the very least-some inspiration for creative writing. You had to love Diagon Alley. |
Really, was there anything better than music? Harker was sure there wasn't, and thus he found himself ducking into the music shop, out of the cold that had Diagon Alley in what seemed like a permafrost. Once inside he immediately stripped off his coat and stuffed it under one of the tables, hopefully out of sight enough that it wouldn't disappear on him; it was warm enough inside that he knew he wouldn't want it in a good minute. The tall man bypassed the counter, eyes lingering on the giant wall of shirts along the back of the shop before he made his way directly to the table littered with boxes and boxes of the item albums. These things were so great for work. One little tap, and he could tune out an entire bar's worth of boring stories and needy patrons. They were honestly the best, and he wasn't sure how he had lived without them. As he passed by a girl (Tess) who was just sorta... standing in his road, he bumped into her, unable to fully get by with how close-quarters everything was. "Sorry," he tossed over his shoulder, before leaning over the table and rummaging about to search for something good. |
Quote:
"Excuse me, pardon me, trying to get up here." Like, getting down to retrieve the record had seemed like a good idea at the time but she was definitely stuck down there now. |
Quote:
"Mind your head," he said pointedly, eyes flickering to the table's edge. |
Quote:
"Thanks for the help, really." She did appreciate it, even if she blamed him for the whole being on the floor ordeal in the first place. "I'm Tess Song." Gossip columnist extraordinaire. "And you are?" |
Quote:
"Not their best work, that one," he said helpfully, gesturing toward it as she offered her name. He offered his hand again in return, for shaking instead of helping up. "Harker James. Hark." He gave her a look over too, like she had done to him. Just because he could. |
Quote:
"So Hark, what do you do when you're not offering music advice to pretty girls?" She was curious. Always curious. |
Quote:
He had listened to it. Once, ages ago. It could be a grower, possibly... but he wasn't willing to give it that chance. Because it had just been bad. Hark looked back at the table with the item albums on it and fished around through them absently with one hand, splitting his attention between her and the titles. "Serving drinks to pretty girls. And old men. Who aren't nearly as interesting, hence..." he held up the album he'd already selected. "Good for drowning out people who think firewhiskey is a pass for telling their entire life story." He found another one he rather liked, and held that one out to her. "Should give that a shot instead of the record. What do you do then?" |
Quote:
He waited a moment as she looked through the albums, more to offer answers to any questions she might have rather than look over her shoulder. But she was taking kind of a while and he wasn't trying to pressure her too much, so he glanced at a few of the other customers as she decided. Didn't look like they needed any assistance right just then, so he turned back to Eden again when she made up her mind about one of the Wiggenweld albums. "Good choice," he nodded. "A solo album? There have been rumors circulating... I wouldn't be surprised if they were true." Sounded like something he would do, and the source that he heard that from was pretty reliable. And it was probably pretty close on the horizon if customers were asking him the same. |
Quote:
Having set the other album down, Tess took the one being offered with both hands and considered it. "Thanks, I think I will." As for what she did, the brunette smirked. "I'm a journalist." |
Quote:
"Yeah...I'd be very interested to see if it's any good." She said with a shrug about the solo album. She looked around the store, spotting a few more people trickling in. That was cool, though. Eden wanted this place to do well and stay open because man, it was so rad! "So uh...when you close up?" she asked....curiously. Very curiously. Ahem. Cue smiling and tucking some of her hair behind her ear. |
Quote:
"Yeah, me too," he nodded, his thoughts not completely on the solo album. "I suppose time will tell anyway." It was still rumor as far as he was concerned, even if they might eventually come to fruition. Atticus smiled again as she did. "Well, I close up shop at 10.. if you're around then, I wouldn't mind buying you a drink." If she was interested, of course. Leaky Cauldron was close by. Though he frequented other places as well. |
