Peacock blue ceiling with golden symbols moving over it, and polished dark wood floors, the Atrium serves to welcome all visitors to the British Ministry of Magic and is the place all Ministry workers must pass through to get to their respectable departments. If you look closely at the windows overlooking the atrium, you may catch a glimpse of Ministry employees, namely security, observing all those who pass through the atrium. Not far from the Fountain of Magical Brethren is a small stand that serves coffee and a danishes to workers too busy to stop and have a proper meal. The large room is incessantly full of busy employees, but only a few ever care to stop and chat you up; our wonderful Welcome Wizard who is there to assist the public, and the security workers watching out for the leery. You should hope to only ever be stopped by the former, else you may find yourself taking an unexpected trip to the security office.

OOC: All Ministry of Magic employees, regardless of their assigned department, are welcome to create their own roleplay in this thread.

His head unconsciously tilted slightly to the side as Simon watched and waited for a reaction, the woman appearing to relax from whatever had been ruffled up previously but he wasn't going to assume anything until it was clear. He couldn't help smiling however as Sophia spoke once more confirming his belief was indeed correct...the woman in front of her WAS Selina's mother. "And you as well," he replied in all honesty with a smile. It certainly was interesting to meet the woman who raised his friend.

"Well hopefully nothing too much or out there," Simon comment with a chuckle trying to fight a touch of embarishment at her choice of words. Selina had talked about him to her parents, or at least her mother. That was an odd thing to think about, that he had warranted that much attention. Did she know about the crush? Simon now felt a bit more ackward in the meeting.

Sophie collected herself and took a seat so she could organize the papers that had been ruffled in their initial meeting. Once she was settled she patted to the seat beside her so Simon knew it was okay to take a seat beside her. It was not as if Sophie was going to bite. True, she was a stern woman who, when provoked had a wicked scary temper, but most of the time she was a driven, but sweet woman. Or at least she liked to think that of herself. Selina was more of her father than her mother anyway.

Simon let himself relax, having not registered that his nervousness over the issue was so visible despite his attempts to hide it. And the woman had assured him Selina had been nice in her mentioning of him. "Alright," he replied with a simple nod taking the seat beside her that she had motioned for him to take. " Guess I'm still not much used to being a source of attention." He certainly had never been the typical captain or even just plain ordinary quidditch player who loved people fawning over them. And the trouble of his seventh year antics still weighed heavy in his mind despite others insisting it was over and done with.

"Almost 3 months," he answered after thinking back for a moment. It still had the new job feel to him though he supposed that was probably gonna last for at least the first year. Once he had truly proven he was in for the long haul...and there were possibly younger YATIs under him then hopefully he wouldn't be new any more. Of course Legend would no doubt try to keep him feeling like he was always the newbie.

Mr. Chevron Wilkes strolled through the atrium. His pasty white ankles shown under his robes and he was carrying a cup of coffee. This was his mid-morning workout, where he left his desk and wandered around the Ministry to mingle a bit. He'd return to Games and Sports around lunch time.

To eat.

Then do more "work".

He was liaisoning. Wink wink.

Chev slurped his coffee and paused to look up and admire the ceiling. Ah, another day at the Ministry.

Hmmm. It was actually nice to get out the office finally. By the amount of questions that the YATI's were asking Isobel would've thought that they were like 5. She'd finally managed to escape, and was hoping that she could get away with not being in the office for as long as possible. She wasn't neglecting her aurors though, she had set them on a task. So. She was doing her job. She was just now, taking some time away from the office so that she didn't like explode or something. Izzy-guts all over the office would not be very good.

Mmm. She might held over to the cafe, and get herself a coffee. That would help calm her down, and make her relax. And then she could head back to the office, and tackle the trainees again. Yes sorted. Coffee. Relax. Tackle.
