If you became Minister/Mistress of Magic what would be the first thing that you do?

hmm. to be honest I would probably admire my gorgeous office and then go and meet my Employees, each and every one

Oh, wow. That's really a difficult question really. There's millions of things I could do. *think think*

If I were in a serious mood, I'd totally list off all the people that got me to be where I am as Ministress. If I was in a fun mood, I'd totally pull off a GoF Flitwick during the Yule Ball.

But I think I'd freak out and make it so that ugly Magic if Might fountain gets kicked out - if it's still there, of course.

Wow, that's a hard one. I think I would work to better the schools. Not that Hogwarts isn't a wonderful school, but I think I would find a way to do a program with the 6th and 7th year students so they could start learning about jobs they are interested in. Let them work at the Ministry for class credit.

If i were Mistress of Magic? i'd first make everyone bow down to me *cough* Uhm... seriously? I'd probably focus on developing new methods of transportation as one 'platform', but also advocating for woman's rights... =]

I wonder if the Ministry has a take your daughter to work day? That would be a great way to get some more girls interested in working for them.

If I became Minister the first thing I would do would be to release all magical creatures to govern themselves and seek their own paths free from wizards rule

My first order of business would be to let the Elfs have a wand if they wish. If they do so desire I'd open a wizarding school for all magical creatures, with specialized professor tailoring to each magical power. Each month there would be a Ministry tour where the magical creatures could go into the Ministry freely without security beside them and could learn about how the Ministry really works. If they choose to stay in the Ministry after I'd allow them.

That's an excellent idea!! And a good way to promote the Ministry as a valid place of employment, for sure!! =]

As Minister, what do you think about different wages for employees/ Division heads/ etc ... position versus experience?

I do think that those with more responsibility should be paid more. They have a lot more on the line and have employees under them. Experience should factor in, but responsibility should be a higher value.

Well, I think more pay comes with more experience. Obviously though, like she just said, you should really be receiving a bigger check if you're doing more work. But I guess thatleads to the next question...
