Inside Professor Macadrian Shackleton's office is a large, heavy mahogany desk, behind which stands a tall purple suede armchair. A soft green quilt rests over the back of it. On the desk sit photo frames with numerous moving pictures of her loved ones, crystal vases filled with purple roses and orange lilies (Professor Shackleton's favorites), numerous small white candles in glass votive holders, an ink well and a peacock feather quill, a fresh blank piece of parchment, and plenty of books on the subject of Arithmancy. These belongings are all very much the same from previous years at Hogwarts; however, there are also an array of sugar quills, candy wrappers, chocolate frogs, and an ornately carved medium-sized wooden chest with a heavy lock upon it that looks inpenetrable.

The wall behind her desk consists entirely of shelves filled with books, most of which relate to Arithmancy, although there is an entire section for books on other school subjects, particularly Ancient Runes, Divination, and Astronomy, and some new books on topics not taught in the school, such as healing and medicinal potions.

By the large windows, bedecked with beautifully-ornate gold curtains, stands a mahogany coffee-table covered in even more Wizarding magazines than in previous terms. Where an array of armchairs used to be, now sits a squashy chaise lounger and a small, comfortable looking couch, over which is draped several thick quilts. Next to the chaise is a wooden cabinet with wooden doors, containing mugs, glasses, and small plates for entertaining company, such as students or other staff members, as well as an assortment of sugary snacks. In the fireplace across the room is a fresh pot of hot cocoa warming above the fire and another pot simmering a different liquid...

Numbers no longer float around the room as they did in previous terms. The office has a different feeling to it than before... not a bad feeling, just different. A bit less light and free, a bit more serious and careful.

Of course, you do not see any of the office's contents until you knock on Professor Shackleton's door and she greets you to come in...

Adhered to the locked door of Professor Shackleton's office is the following notice, scrawled in hurried writing:

Diana's mum and Dad had been both very good in Arithmancy,when they were kids.So,Diana was also expected to be good.So,she went to the door of the Arithmancy office.Knocking at the door,she waited patiently.Then she noticed the note on the door.So,she took out a quill and parchment from her bag.Then she wrote:--

Professor Shackleton,
I came to see that you were not present in your office.I am very much interested to take Arithmancy.It has been like a family tradition.My Mum and Dad were both very good at Arithmancy when they were kids.I have seen their books at home and am very much interested to take the subject.I promise to try my level best in the subject,if you allow me to take it.I'll be looking forward for your reply.

She slid the note under the door and went away.

As Lizzie finally found the office for the professor in Arithmancy, she found a note on the door saying the professor was away. With a sigh, she almost just turned around and walked away, but decided to write a note anyway. She managed to get her quill and a piece of parchment, and wrote quickly:

Professor Shackleton
I noticed you're not here, so I'll just leave this note for now. I very much wish to study Arithmancy, and wonder if there's anything I need to do before being able to come to the lessons. Do I have to sign up or something?
I'm hoping to like Arithmancy, since I am muggleborn and I loved math in school.

She put her quill back in her bag and slide the parchment under the door, like the instructions said. Quickly she hurried away, wanting to catch up with her new friends. Maybe she could come back later and present herself.

Liz walks up to Professor Shackleton's door, and sees the note on the door. Taking a parchment and quill from her bag, she sits down on the floor to write

Opening her bag, she takes out a butterfly she drew, and taps it with her wand, to make it flutter around. Taking out an envelope she places the butterfly in the note and places the note in the envelope.

She finally slides the envelope under the door, and walks back down the hall.

After threading through a few secret passages, he came to a halt right outside Macadrian's door. He skimmed up and down the corridor, no footsteps or echoes were heard. He brought his wand out and went to work with lock on her office, now what was the password? He waved his wand and smiled, "Really? Macadrian, kids can guess that" he chuckled and stepped into the office locking the door behind him.

He spotted the notes on the floor, picked them up and started skimming through them as he walked around then pocketed them. Now he needed to set to work.. he sat behind her desk and started on those drawers and moved his way around.


Sometime after


Fabian made his way out office, checked both ways and bolted straight for the passageway.

Peering around the corner stunned at another professor, tapping the door and entering Professor Shackleton's office. Liz ducks behind a statue as he looks around, before entering. Not being able to see exactly who it is, Liz is curious as to why, he seems to be sneaking around.

She waits until he emerges looks around and dashes past the statue she is behind. Seeing something bulging from his pocket, she looks closer and sees something white that looks like paper...

Xehanna skipped up the hallway towards the arithmancy classrom. she love arithmancy. one of her favorite classes. when she got to the door she noticed a note in fast writing. she read it and decided to respond.

Dear Professor Shackleton,
My name is Xehanna Tifadoresly and i was here, as you can see. i was wondering if you gave out extra credit even though the term only started today. take your time responding. im sure you have a million duties. thanks for your time and have a nice day.

xehanna slipped the note under the door and skipped away.

Biff sees a beautiful picture of a beautiful woman hanging up, Biff knows he neeeds help with Arithromancy.
Professor Shackleton
I am new to the school. My name is Biff Harrington the Third. I transferred as a third year and am in the house of Slytherin. Any thing you need downe in the classroom or classes, I would love to help you..
Biff stares at the teacher's picture. Then he decides it is not a good idea to stare.

Seeing a few students walk to the door, and slip notes under the door, Liz feels it is safe enough to come out.

"I need to try and find James, and see what he thinks about what I just saw!" she says to herself as she dashes up to the common room, hoping James is there.

Tasha walked up to the door and read the note. Pulling out a spare piece of parchment, she wrote:

Professor Shackleton,
I'm sorry about not talking in class but I was busy taking notes.
I have a problem with the homework... I can't figure out question 4. When I add the year 2067, I get the number 15 and I'm stuck after that. If you can help me I would be grateful.

She feeded the note under the door, then turned and walked back towards the common room.

Livvy approached the office and found that there were many people slipping notes under the door. She glanced at the note on the door and nodded her head. Livvy pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote:

Dear Professor Shackleton,
My name is Olivia Zhang and I'm a first year. I feel that Arithmancy is a very complex subject and I was wondering if you could help me with giving me more assignments to do, such as extra credit work, if possible. And I'm hoping if you could explain the Pinnacles. I am interested.
Thank you. I would be so grateful. Have a nice day Professor!

Livvy

Livvy looked the note over and slipped it under the door as she then turned and headed towards the hallways.

Rachel walked slowly towards Professor Shackleton's office. She was very full after the meal she had just had, and wanted the meal to stay in her stomach.
She was just about to knock when she noticed the sign and sighed. She sat down carefully on the hard, cold stone floor and took out a piece of parchment, ink and a quill. Thinking quickly, she wrote down the following note:

Not completely satisfied with the note, but not bothered to redo it, she slid it under the door, packed her stuff and gently picked herself up off the floor. She walked away slowly, heading for a place where she could rest before her next class.

Katherina walked to the Professers office, horribly confused. she saw the sign on the door and sighed slightly defeated. despite reading the text and listening apatly in class she still had a hard time understanding the homework assignment. quickly getting a quill and parchment she began to write her note:
Professer:
My name is Katherina McCarty and unfortunalty i am having a terrible time tryin to interprete the material we covered in class. when it is convient for you, i would love to have a after class chat discussing all that i dont understand.

Katherina slid the note under the door and turned and walked away. maybe she could find someone to help her........

Biff wonders if the beautiful looking teacher is ever coming to her office. "Sorry Professor. I did not mean to miss your class but I did do my homework" he tells her. Biff just sighed out loud.

Macadrian arrived before her locked office door with her bag over her shoulder. Removing her wand from her pocket, she cast a spell with her password silently and hurried through the door, immediately closing it behind her. She gathered up the small pieces of parchments that students seemed to have pushed under her door and made her way to her desk.

Tossing the papers down to read later, Macadrian placed her bag on her desk and opened the large leather flap. Pulling out a fairly large, shiny wooden plaque, Macadrian glanced at her walls and tried to determine a place to hang it. After much debate and indecision, Macadrian decided to hang the plaque just behind her desk over her left shoulder so that all the kids could see it if they were observant, though she doubted anyone but Hufflepuffs would really care what it read.

Biff noticed a plaque behind the the professor's desk just over her left shoulder. He wonderered about it. Probably means nothing. He likes her picture better.

OOC: Denny, the door to my office is locked and she hasn't let anyone in, so your character wouldn't yet be able to see the plaque. And there is no picture of my character outside my office as well. Just wanted to clarify that.

In dire need of a beverage, Macadrian found a cauldron and began mixing a match of cocoa. After lighting a fire, Macadrian hung the cauldron just above the highest flame so that it would warm up evenly and have a velvety texture.

Walking back to her desk, Macadrian plopped her body down in the chair and wrapped herself in the blanket resting behind her on the chair. She felt very cold and a bit nauseous at the moment, but couldn't allow herself too much time to rest as she needed to scan the textbook to determine her next lesson plan. Not to mention the plans she needed to make with Mungo's.

Allie walked up the door of the office and knocked.She wasn't even sure why she was there. It was a stupid question, and she was pretty sure she knew the answer. But she made herslef stay, she needed to at least try...

Macadrian's eyes popped open at the sound of the knock on her door. She glanced at the clock on her desk and realized she'd dozed off for about 2 hours just sitting in her chair. As she stretched her now sore neck, Macadrian unwrapped the blanket from her shoulders and draped it over the back of her chair. She cleared her throat and called out, "Come on in!"

Allie opened the door, and slowly walked into the room.
"Hi, Professor.." she said. "Ummm, I was wondering....well...I have a fvor to ask."
