The Dance Area Off to the side of the dining and seating area, a space has been set up for dancing. Whether you are up for simple ballroom dancing with your date, or you want to dance the newest craziest wizarding dance, this is the place for you. At each corner of the dance floor, hover lights which bathe the dance floor in alternating lights, creating a fun and fancy ambiance. So grab your date or a friend, move over to the dance floor, and have a good old boogie. Just make sure you don’t miss the big events going on over at the stage whilst you dance the night away. |
For anyone! Well, this is curious. No one on the dance floor. These people just had no sense of fun. Guess somebody has to start though. And the perfect song for dancing was playing. Okay, maybe not the perfect song, but at least it wasn't that silly classical stuff that forces people into dancing with a partner. So, Roxanne did start dancing by herself, right in the middle of the floor. |

Hoping she wouldn't notice, since he came from behind her, he took her hand into his and gently spun her around, chuckling to himself. What in the world made him do that, he did not know. At least he knew he wouldn't make a complete fool of himself because, for a man his height and size, he was quite a graceful dancer. "Miss Carter." A small smirk was tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Long time, no see." |
Suddenly a booming voice came from the Grand Stage. "Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to the Board of Governor's Candidate Debate. If the candidates could make their way on the stage please?" ooc: Please make your way to the Grand Stage. This thread will be closed shortly. |
Text Cut: Konrad & LOUD Ian The song had transitioned to a slow one and Roxanne was about to stop dancing and go back to her table, when someone suddenly spun her around. She was about to reach for her wand to hex whoever it was, but then she saw who it was. "Indeed, it has been a long time," she replied with a smile. "How have you been?" She still felt guilty over the way she had left things between them and wanted to make sure he was okay. But then the booming voice of the Senior Undersecretary cut through the music, calling the final warning for the debate. "Ugh, already?" She was quite enjoying herself, thank you. Had even forgotten her irritation over the debate being held during a Ministry event. "Guess that means it's time to go...." |
Quote:
... right? He shrugged in response to her question. "I've been fine. Certainly not as busy as you have been," he said, smirking. The Board of Governors? He never would have guessed that she was interested in that kind of stuff. But, almost as if on queue, a familiar voice asked them all to head over to the stage. "Good luck up there," he smiled encouragingly at her. Should he mention that he was on the Board of Electors? Perhaps she already knew that? "Shall we?" Well, it would have been nice to catch up a little, but they were both needed over there, at the stage. |
-clone?- Glass of elf wine in hand to quench his thirst after the long debate, Erik made his way near the dance floor. He wasn't on it, exactly, but he was near it. There he waited, taking swigs of the wine until his glass was quite empty. Hmm. Elf wine just wasn't comparable to champagne. |
attack of the clones? heh heh Quote:
Snort. "Waiting for someone to sweep you off your feet?" Ivy asked as she walked up behind him. There were probably dozens of women here that would love a dance with him. |
Quote:
Straight to the point he was. |

But then she smirked and her eye twinkled and she held up her hand for him to take. A dance wouldn't hurt. |
Quote:
His left hand went to her waist as he started leading them around, dancing close to her for a few steps before he spoke again. "So. Ivy. How have you been?" There was no one nearby to overhear him |
Quote:
Ivy smirked a little bit when he spoke again. Much better. She continued to follow his lead on the dance floor. "Oh, I've been just fine," she replied, and it might have even been convincing. "And yourself?" she asked in return. |
Quote:
He turned them slowly in time with the music, his eyes taking stock of the room before returning to Ivy. Good Odin the music here was worse than the polka they played in a lift. "Vonderful, thank you. I have to say...you look more than just fine tonight." Erik leaned in to her ear. "You look ravishing." That was an honest compliment. Not always the case with him, but vell, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while. |
Quote:
But she was calm now, yes... And she had to admit, Erik was a rather good dancer. It wasn't anything too fancy, but he seemed to know what he was doing. Ivy had to refrain herself from rolling her eyes at his comment, although she did appreciate it. If it was true. And ravishing, really? That wasn't something you heard everyday. Ivy smirked slightly. "Am I really supposed to believe that?" she questioned him quietly. For all she knew, he could just be trying to butter her up. |
Quote:
"Well, it's true," he shrugged slightly. "Just because I don't tell you everything about me doesn't mean I'm lying to you when I do get to speak with you." He paused to spin her out, fancy like, and then pulled her back in even closer. They were in the far corner of the dance floor now. "Listen, I have something to ask you." Something small, but important. |
Quote:
Ah, she had a feeling this was coming, especially since they had made their way over to the far corner of the dance floor. Couldn't they just have a nice dance together? As she studied his face, hers remained emotionless. "What is it?" |
Quote:
"What do you know about the umbrella vinora plant?" His eyes stayed focused on her face, searching for something. |

"I ask because I have to ask." He continued to lead the dance in a small circle, with small steps. "Is there anything else to it? Country of origin? Favoured habitat?" It was too simple. He was suspicious...not that he was doubting Ivy's knowledge on the subject, just...the subject itself. He had always hated Herbology and Potions for this reason. It just didn't make sense. |
Quote:
"I don't know," she replied simply. And maybe that was true. Maybe it was somewhere in the back of her mind, or maybe it was in a book in her library back home, or maybe she simply did not know. Even if she did know, Ivy wasn't quite sure she would share it with Erik. At least not now. |
Quote:
...and now she was clamming up. Fine. He inhaled slowly and said nothing further, though at least he was still dancing with her. Just very quietly dancing. |
Quote:
Ivy kept her eyes on him as the danced. She wasn't done. "You obviously know who I am and what I do. I have answers if you're willing to cooperate and play nicely." Was that so hard? |
Quote:
"All right, Ivy," he dipped her down and let her hang there for a bit while his blue eyes pierced her pretty face. "I might have answers too...if you phrase your questions right. Be mindful that I can't just have a tell all session with you in the middle of the British Ministry of Magic." And just what had he asked her to do, hmm? One thing. One tiny thing. |
Quote:
Her smirk returned. "Why, yes, Erik. I would love to go on a date with you, how kind of you to ask." 'Tell all' session, date, same thing. "Name the place and time and I'll be there." Ivy shot him a subtle wink, obviously in a better mood now that things had gone her way... a little. |
Quote:
"I never thought I'd hear you say the L word, darling," he countered, a slow smirk spreading to his face finally. He swung her back up from the dip. "But I knew it was only a matter of time before you realized your true feelings for me." Speaking of which, Erik had a feeling he was going to be 'kneed' soon, so he released Ivy from their dance hold, keeping one of her hands in his. He led her to the edge of the floor where they had started and brought the hand carefully to his lips for a kiss, keeping both blue eyes on her. Alvays keep your eyes on the target. "Thank you for the dance." |
