Alice heard the comment from Giles, she knew she was doing good. But that was sooooo nice of him to say. Then she got a smile from Alec Summers, she didn't know much about that guy, but whatever. Everyone seemed to make a big deal of him but he just seemed like a random guy.
But whatever. She smiled back at him, as a nine-year-old she already had a nice smile. She knew she was adorable. Mmhmm.
She got on the Broom as Giles told her and looked around at the other kids here. What were they doing? She was sure but She wanted to learn things like now! Like flying and all that fun stuff.
*better late than never?*......and she needs a little help.

As it could be predicted, little Olivia was bouncing excitedly in place, staring out at all the other kids around her age with a HUGE smile in place. This was so DIFFERENT from Dance camp...Everyone looked so TOUGH...and people were already FLYING....but not her. No...Liv had never been on a broom before (much to her father's disapproval)....or maybe not, as he went overboard with the protective thing, too...sometimes. Like mum.
.......BUT HE WAS HERE! AND TEACHING HER! Olivia had never seen her daddy 'at work' before....and she was just IN AWE, okay?
.......and SHE WANTED TO FLY, too...She'd even picked out a broom!....now watching everyone else and how they were making their brooms go. Unfortunately, she was having some trouble.
"Can someone help me?" The nine year old wasn't embarrassed to ask. Her mum had always told her that...it was more silly to not ask and mess up, than to ask and get it right.

How does a boy exactly maintain his hair? He had never seen his onii-san (older brother) obsess with his hair, except for the number rule of NOT touching it. Does that count as hair maintenance as well? Jace tilted his head and stared at Alec and his hair. His teacher has nice hair, and apparently so does he. Hmm. Maybe he should ask about it? See if the constant wearing of men (Kendo head gear) affects his crown of glory.
The thought was obviously pushed aside because he was still hanging upside down from his broom.
He can feel his lips getting cold until Giles came to the rescue. The man pulled him right back up on his broom, and the nine year old made sure to hold on to his broom’s handle, and anchored his feet on the broom’s stirrups. His face immediately turned red and waited for Giles to scold him. He did wrong, so he was expecting his teacher to say something bad. His sensei would have pulled him on the side and tell him a thousand things about listening and observing and all the discipline stuff that Kendo demands. Was he going to get it though? “I’m sorry, Giles-san.” Jace uttered not looking at his teacher in embarrassment.

First time on a broom. If he wasn't being so professional right now, he might just freak out. But no, he wasn't going to purposefully embarrass her. He was too cool for that.

Oh. HER DAD WAS GOING TO HELP HER. Did everyone see?! Well, if they didn't, that was okay. He was, after all, HER DAD. Olivia was sure that if the others had parents that played, they'd be right there; teaching them, too. She was just SO happy that hers was here, okay?! That she was getting to do this with him!...He really loved her. Not to braaaaaag...but it was true!
Doing as he instructed, Liv grasped at the neck of the broom with small hands...and then LOOKED back up, still oozing pure excitement. Grasp and kick off? That was it? She tried not to be too doubtful and BELIEVE in herself. Princesses always believed in themselves...and were graceful and lovely. Quidditch didn't always seem like a graceful sport, but it sometimes was...when her mum let her watch. Like a dance on brooms. Choreographed and rehearsed. BUT she wasn't going to say a word bad about it...because her dad played...and her uncle. Lots of family and friends, actually.......and her future prince, Hassan!....But her daddy didn't know that.
SHHHHH.
Mustering all the strength in her nine year old body, she held onto the broom tightly and KICKED, propelling herself upward...
Was she doing it?! Was she flying?!

She sort of hitched a ride actually, catching hold of David's broom (or really, being caught hold of, by the broom, and grabbing on to make it look like it was intentional), and being WHOOSHED right along with it.
HUZZAAAAAAAAAAAAH! She was MASCOTTING like a.... like a thing that mascotted REALLY WELL!

“Nothing at all to be sorry for buddy. You are doing great!” Poor guy, why did he think he was going to get yelled at. “Brooms can be tricky, that’s why we are just learning. Now hold on tight with and keep your body like this. When you want to go forward just lean a little. Move your hand to go the way you want as well. See.” Giles moved around him so that he could see the positions and the leaning. “Now you try.” He’d be right here if something went wrong.
Looking around the group he smiled watching them all. They were all doing so well… er well most of them. “Sweetie.” He flew towards the girl (char) hanging on the boys (David) broom. “We need to use our own brooms at first, okay? Once you figure your own flying out then you can try the tricks of hanging on other people’s broom.” Thankfully these brooms didn’t get high in the air and he could easily help her down. Cute that she thought flying was that fun and she was brave enough to already try something like that.
Checking the time for the day he thought that some could be ready to move on. “NOW IF YOU THINK YOU ARE READY, THERE IS A FUN COURSE TO FLY IN RIGHT OVER HERE.”’ He pointed towards the area. “There are some fun little obstacles like hoops to fly around. Nothing that will hurt if you run into it and if you fall you aren’t that far from the ground. We are here to help if you need it. So don’t be afraid to ask.”
Though most of them seemed to be doing excellent. He looked back at Jace to see if he was needing anymore help.

He stood up slowly with his hands slightly out to the side. His eyes darting between the broom and his daughter. He promised to catch her if she started to fall, so, he was willing to sacrifice the cool factor for her.
"Lift the front end of it up just a little bit, sweetheart."

There was a squeal of utter delight as the wind lifted and scattered her hair. She WAS flying!......OH! IF ONLY PHILLIP COULD SEE!!! AND KAT!!! Olivia was going to tell them ALL about it later...Though, Phillip was there. Just in a different group. The little blonde had tried so hard not to be too annoyed at that. How DARE they split up her and HER Phillip?!??!...but it was okay. She had her daddy...and Phillip was so lovely and wonderful. It wasn't very princess like to be stingy.
She would never admit to how much it upset her...since that wasn't gracious at all.
...BUT BACK TO FLYING. Hearing her father speak from the ground, Liv lifted the handle up; trying to keep her grip tight. Of course, with the abundant excitement and flailiness (at ACTUALLY FLYING), it resulted in her slipping a bit. She tried so hard to right her hold like her dad had showed her...but ending up falling flat against it....and said broom SHOT OFF! Of course, it wasn't going too fast, but fast enough to jolt a nine year old who was new to this.

Looking up at the clouds, Suri squinted her eyes and tilted her head down juuuuuuust a smidge so that she could see Alec Summers' reaction. BUT she was being sly about it, so that he wouldn't notice she was doing it. You know, being clever and all.
The nine year old blushed furiously when she saw he'd 'caught' her kiss and almost fell off her broom when he talked to her. Chin HIGH in the air, still pretending not to look at him and face red enough to fry an egg on, Suri did not react when Alec called out to her. Because NOPE. TOO EMBARRASSING.
But then another man spoke to her (Giles), and Suri turned towards him instead. She didn't recognise him. He got BIG BEAMS though because he had seen her helping, and she'd followed his lead and gotten on her broom. However, just as she was about to zoom off and leave the whole Alec Summers mess FAR behind her, that man spoke again and she froze, hands gripping her broom tightly as her face blanched.

He... HE... BUT.. SHE HAD BEEN KIDDING. SORT OF. They weren't supposed to have HEARD- GULP. Suri's lip wobbled and she FOUGHT IT. She fought it long and hard and almost managed to swallow the lump in her throat when redness returned to her cheeks and the pigtailed brunette burst into hysterical, embarrassed, body shaking wails. She dropped down to the ground none too gently and hugged her knees, tears falling freely as she hid her face in shame.
She wanted her Mum. Where was Mum?! SHE NEEDED MUUUUMMM.

YEAAAAAAH CHARLOTTE! Davie let out a half-maniacal, half-joyful laugh as his BFF jumped on the back of his broom. It might not look like much to the professionals, but he was having a blast clipping along at five miles per hour as he was.

"I dunno how to brake though, you guys didn't teach us that." Davie pointed out loudly as he WHOOOOOSHED past the guy who beat people for a living. He hadn't yanked Charlotte off the back of his broom though, so as far as Davie was concerned, he was winning. He was the only one with a mascot hitching a ride on his back, yo. Be jealous, other kids.

Speaking of, whhhhyyyyy was that girl over there crying? She was sobbing. Hard. Like, REALLY outright crying and rocking and everything.
Davie stared, full on turned his head and stared, his broom drifting slightly off course as he stared at the sobber.

They had all gotten into the air pretty well. The few who had not had been taken care of by the other professionals. And the few who had done it a little too well and tried to go off on their own, well they had also been taken care of by someone more stern than Isobel thought she could be. She had been just about to try the next step when Giles took charge and suggested they start on the obstacle course. Yes, good job. She looked around, reading to hop on her broom if anyone needed help.
The only one who looked like they needed help so far was a girl who was still on the ground. She had been ready before, and even helping others. What happened? As Isobel approached, she noticed that the girl was crying. What? She panicked for a split second, unsure how to handle the situation. One, two, three. She took a deep breath and knelt on the ground next to the girl.
"Hey," she said softly. Isobel reached her hand out to rub the girl's back gently. Was that good? Comforting? Hopefully. "What's wrong?"
He was NOT going to get trampled by children, he would not! Xavier refused even if said children were going at not even a bruising speed. His ego was on the line. So. He took a step aside. The program had insurance for the kiddos in case they--you know, ended up with a bump here and there. Yeah, it had to.
But no need to worry! Giles was there and all was well. Or so he hoped.
........No. It wasn't all well. There was a child crying her lungs out and...Xavier couldn't just stand there. If his little girls were crying banshees he'd like it for someone (no creeper) to go and comfort them, or at least help.
Going to said child (Suri), Xavier took a knee in front of her, a kind smile on his face. "Why the tears, sweetheart?" He spoke softly, not freaked out by tears and wailing. He was all too familiar with that. "Did you fall?"

Merlin did he make her cry? He looked at the child not sure what to do. In all his time that he volunteered at the Orphanage he never once made a child cry. He just stared at the girl until he saw Isobel and Xavier go to her. He gave them both sorry looks before turning to the rest of the group. Maybe he wasn't cut out for teaching children.
Glancing at the boy (Davie) he smiled a bit. "That's one of the easiest parts. Just gently pull up on the broom like this." He lifted into the air and showed the boy how to brake. "Now you try it."
Looking around he wondered if anyone was headed for their fun filled course yet. Maybe they weren't ready, which was okay too. He knew many in this group didn't have the experience and could just be wanting to fly around.

He watched as she lifted the broom handle up. He stood up as she did to stay level with her. Good. Good.
Ohwait. Not good.
"You got it. Don't freak out." he said darting after her. Good thing these were just training brooms. Good call whoever was putting on the camp.
"Sit up slowly. Try to keep the handle level."

James had been stood there smirking and watching all of the others trying to work out how to even go. He kicked off and zoomed toward the course without a problem. He whipped around the course easily and then got to the end and paused, looking at everyone. Okay, now he was bored! What should he do?? Try going around the course as fast as he could? He bit his tongue like mummy normally did when she concentrated and started flying the course fast.
