Emmalee gestured over toward the food. "That seems as good a place to start as any?" She began to walk in that direction, pulling a hair tie from her jacket pocket to loosely tie back her hair. "I was actually doing the exact same thing before now," she answered. "I worked at the Norwegian Ministry of Magic as a Dragon Researcher. I'm not Norwegian, though. I was born and raised here and went to Hogwarts before university. I took an open spot at the Norwegian Ministry, because it was in my field, but I've always wanted to come back home." So here she was.
Sharing a level sounded different but fun. "Creatures and plants together? Hmm...that's new, but I guess it makes things more interesting," she commented. "Do the two ever clash? The creatures and the plants, I mean." Not the employees. As she finished that question, she looked into the area and noted they were still standing in the entranceway. "You want to head on in?" she asked.
Alexandria was not the first to enter through the archway, but judging from the lack of people hanging out in the archway, she was not last either. Which was fine because first nor last, this WHOLE AFFAIR was like RIGHT UP her alley with the floral arrangements and well the general principle of a garden party. Brown eyes alight, she beamed at all the decor and the warmth of the environment, knowing full well the climate charms that were placed on the area.
Busy looking around the archway, Alex nearly missed her co-worker conversing with an unfamiliar face. How could she have missed the flaming red hair, she did not know, but "Emmmmmaaaaleee!!" Alex exclaimed, walking briskly over to her. "Feels good to be back, huh? And I totally feel like our greenhouses were utilized for the inspiration of this whole welcome back party." She carried on before sparing the new woman a look. "Who's your friend? Hi, Hi, I'm Alexandria Hadley, but you can just call me Alex."

This Ministry of Magic was looking better and better by the second. The Norwegian Ministry was good, too, but if Emmalee was any indication, Daphne was going to love working here! "Thanks," she said with a smile. Daphne nodded along as Emmalee talked about how good it was to be home. "I've been gone for years, and it's more than time to come back home. I'm excited about my children going to Hogwarts like I did." She and Silas had been looking into Durmstrang before now.
She followed the woman's gesture toward the food table and nodded. "I could use a bite to eat," she responded. She turned and headed in that direction, all the while looking around at what the event had to offer. She listened as Emmalee talked about how the creatures and plants would sometimes react to one another, but it didn't seem like anything major had happened. "Does the Ministry always go all out like this?" she asked.
"Oh, a flower arranging area," she commented a second later, pointing to the left of her. "I bet you'd like that. Have you been there yet?" She bet Emmalee was really good at arranging flowers. She'd grown silent waiting to see what Emmalee had to say, but in the silence, she heard a squeal of a greeting coming from somebody she guessed was a really good friend of Emmalee's. This woman seemed nice, and so Daphne smiled and introduced herself, too. "I'm Daphne Addison, and yes, I'm new. I figure everybody's going to ask that anyway." Heh.

Emmalee didn't really even have to turn around to know who had called her name. Stopping her stride, she turned, smiling. "Hello, Alex," she laughed. "And yes, it's good to be back. I'm anxious to get back to my plants." Emmalee also looked around. Yes, it did seem as if their greenhouses were the inspiration. "I just hope they didn't actually use anything from them!" She laughed, but was only partially joking. "I'd been working on a cross between a lily and a flutterby-bush and the results were... not exactly safe." She pulled a faux-concerned face. Certainly whoever had set this up wouldn't have taken anything out of the experimental greenhouse. Would they?
Emmalee stood by as the two women got acquainted. "Daphne was just saying she saw a flower arranging station," Emmalee interjected. "What do you say we all give that a shot before getting something to eat?"
She looked first to Alex and then to Daphne. Bonding? Or.. something?

Nice arch, Jory thought to himself as he passed under it. Always keen to observe practically everything, he was walking with his head inclined so he could gaze up with it, his long dark hair falling back.
The result of not watching where he was going? The YATI walked right into some unfortunate soul. It was needless to say Jory was brought back to reality. "Sorry about that.'' He brushed away strands of hair that was blown in his face because of the wind.
"I was admiring the arch a little too much.'' Jory didn't even know who this person was whom he had bumped into.
Ezra's boredom had nearly reduced him to admiring his reflection in the face of his watch when suddenly he was being crashed into. Had somebody NOT noticed him? Impossible. More importantly, did his hair look okay? He reached up and patted his head and straightened his tie, finally looking the man in the face when he had made sure his appearance had maintained its perfection. As always.
He reached out his hand to give the man a firm handshake. "Not to worry, the arch is pretty magnificent." Not more magnificent than HIM, but no hard feelings yeah? "I'm Ezra Bellamy, Media Liason in the Minister's office." With this he stood up even straighter and flashed the man a self righteous smile, showing nearly all of his pearly white teeth. Ezra relaxed his face into a mellower smile before asking, "And you?" No need to scare this guy off with his greatness just yet. Plus he had very nice hair, and people with nice hair deserved an extra level of respect in his book.

Oh good, she hadn't interrupted anything. Not that she expected she would have. This was an open affair, meaning mingling with anyone and everyone was encouraged, yes? She did happen to catch Daphne speaking about children going to Hogwarts and if the Ministry always went all out like this. "Well goodness, of course they do! It's the British Ministry of Magic. It's a coveted place of employment, so we don't expect less than grandiose around here for parties!" Was it bad to have high expectations for the Ministry parties, probably. But Alex didn't really care either.
"Nice to meet you, Daphne and welcome! Where will you be working?" And like, how old was she if she had children? Because Alex was pretty sure she didn't look that much older than herself and goodness, she felt old all of a sudden and she didn't even have any children. "I doubt they'd use hybrid plants, but you never know... I'll keep my eyes peeled for unexpected occurrences though." Alex mused to Emmalee.
She let out a long sigh ... glancing between the two women. "Alright, alright. I mean you know I only come to these shindigs for the food, but you twisted my arm. Flowering arranging station it is." She nodded and waited to follow them ....

Making looks over to the food table Mercedes watched as people made their way over to the food. At least there was that. Something she knew and trusted.
She was surprised at first when she heard her name. She was that no one here know her. She turned and realized that in fact she did know someone. Bart's mom. "Victoria." They had met a few times. So it was nice to see someone she know.
"So far. Are all ministry parties like this?" She asked. Quite an interesting theme honestly. It seem like she already knew that that Vic worker in games and sports.
"Thanks. So I guess I'll be working with you, then?" She was very excited to get to work. The British and Irish quidditch league had a bunch of teams. More than the American League. Mariel that was her department head right?

Figuring that they could continue to speak as they walked, Emmalee started toward the flower station, grateful that Alex would keep an eye out for any experimental hybrids that accidentally made their way to the party.

She also saw someone who seemed to be not enjoying himself, or his eyes had come loose inside his head and had started rolling around on their own. Emmalee offered him a small smile and wave, before following behind the woman.
"Quite the party," she offered, as she stepped beside him. "I'm Emmalee. Are you new or...?" Had they just not met?
The decor wasn't the most pleasing to Lorenzo, actually he hated it. It looked far too happy. No one is ever this happy. Mixing some dark tones with the very light tones of the decor would do it best but it still didn't want to make Enzo be here. He already wasn't enjoying himself. He was out of his comfort zone. He was used to being out on a Quidditch pitch nearly all day long. He enjoyed going to parties but this party just felt like work. Like he had to be here. He looked around more and saw a woman wave at him and smile. The twenty-nine year old looked at the woman near him. Enzo waved back to the woman.

High heels. What was she thinking? Kyle’s eyes were wide and fearful as she took a few steps toward the entrance. Her legs were still wobbling as she stepped forward, step step wobble. Every step she wobbled a bit more. But she was going to be careful, very careful with the whole walking thing. This girl was not going to end up in the punch bowl or the pond.
Nope.
Not going to happen.
She stepped slowly and carefully toward the entrance.
wobble wobble step. wobble step step. wobble wobble step. stepstepstep wobble...step. Oh god. She was going down she knew it she could feel it wobble...wobble. She was standing there her legs spread very widely apart and her arms in the air for balance. She looked crazy, so crazy...but she wasn't. "help" she squeaked.

...and then there were three of them, four if your counted the man Emmalee was talking to. Daphne barely had a chance to reply to everything before the others were making their way to the flower arranging station. Maybe she could make something decent, something her daughter would like.
Leaving the entranceway behind, she followed the others to the station she'd seen just minutes earlier.

Tabitha smiled and waved at the two gentlemen that were at the archway.
Paxton thought that everything was moving too slow, or too relaxed. The place, the mood, everything was just...so laid back. Though he was part of the team to assemble the shindig, he had little to say about the matter because he was new, and that party stuff wasn't really his thing. Maybe next time they could go camping? In the woods? With real bears and scary stuff? Back home in the muggle world, they'd call it Team Building.
Yeah, maybe that should happen next year. Just to keep everyone on their toes at the very first day of work. Paxton snapped out of his reverie when a woman waved at him. He was startled at first because it has been years since a woman waved at him. The 37-year old grinned and approached her. He should really start talking and make friends. "Hello there, are you from the Ministry?" Are you new? Are you looking for friends? Do you wanna be friends?

And she had dressed brightly for such an occasion, too! Turquoise hair, pink dress--LIME LEGGINGS?! Come on! The REAL question was how could someone NOT dress brightly?! Hehehehee. HE.
"Hi! Hello!" she said to a new face. He looked around her age. The twenty-two year old of COURSE felt much younger, but that was okay. "How's it going?" she asked him. Did he need...HELP? Ember LOVED GIVING HELP HGAAAHSHBDWJBDWHFWHFWHFREH

She was ABOUT to possible graze inside WHEEEEEEEENNNNNN. She heard a VROOM. A VROOM. She whipped around, saw the MOTORCYCLE being parked, and oh MY. She just HAD to wait for it's rider to come along. SURE. IT might look creepy, but Ember didn't really care.....

He wasn't getting off though. HMPH. Ember siiiighed and began making her way towards him---"Excuse me--" She said excitedly, and bouncily...."I LOVE MOTORCYCLES CAN I TOUCH YOUR MOTORCYCLE PLEASE OLDER SIR I'D LOVE IT!" she was screaming...
She was screaming.
Yeah, three cups of coffee wasn't right.
Then the hyper girlwoman happened. Was she...okay? Was...well, the outfit was really something. This woman was either too eager and excited to start work, or she's just...naturally bonkers. They do have those in the Ministry, yes? No matter how weird this is for the man, Paxton simply grinned at her when she greeted the other woman he just addressed.
Paxton opened his mouth to introduce himself when...what? WHAT? NO...Nononono. Not the motorcycle! Touch his beloved bike? Can she define first what touch means? Please? Paxton kept his grin on his face as he brushed the side of his head with his hand. Nobody can just touch his bike, okay? Well, not now. And MERLIN, he's not that old! O_O
"I can give you a ride after the party." If she's that trusting? "Robert Paxton. Department Head for Magical Transportation." GRIN. Hellooo!
SPOILER!!: Enzo!

Enzo thought that it should be over the top more and way more elegant. They needed a new party planner and he was not going to volunteer. He already wasn't happy about the department that the Ministry had put him in. If they were going to make him work on brooms or do something ridiculous then he was so done with this place. He needed a job but with a snap of his fingers he would be able to be a Pro Quidditch Star again. Enzo walked into the entry way and rolled his eyes at everything. This was going to take some getting used too. By this he meant being controlled by a high authority figure. He didn't like that one bit but if he wanted a job then he would have to deal with it for now until he can't take it anymore.
Let the party begin.
And yes. That bloke over there was the newly hired Broom Games Liaison. Yes, he remembered the face on his biodata. "Excuse me, ladies." Paxton said to the two women, and made his way towards...oh Merlin, what's his name again? Lorenzo something. "Hello there." This man looks like he's not happy with everything, so he better tread things carefully. He is HIS boss, after all. With a small smile, he stood in front of the man. He's one tall young man. And wait a minute. He knows that face. "Lorenzo Abernathy. Correct? Robert Paxton, Head of Magical Transportation." And here he thought it was another Lorenzo Abernathy, and not the Quidditch player one. Why was he in his department again? Well, at least he'd get to do some awesome stuff while he's under him. Like...testing prototype broom games for international teams? And if this man asked the right questions...heh. He just might assign him to an awesome assignment.

The toddler would have actually enjoyed the wide open spaces and fresh air. Certainly much more than the formal parties that Aron had lugged him too previously.
"Nice ride there, mate," he said to the bloke with the motorbike, giving him a firm pat on the back as he passed.
No offense to everyone standing around here, but he was just going to excuse himself right on in to the main festivities. Especially after seeing the way the first honking daffodil of the day was throwing herself at the new Department Head - whose name escaped him at the moment. Oops.
Nodding his head to the rest of the group, the Australian made his way through the archway and towards some of the tables set up inside. Maybe some food first?
Paxton got distracted when another fellow gave him a pat on the back. He didn't have to fully turn to see who it was. The Australian accent was a give-away. "Aron." he replied as he too gave the man's arm a single pat. Bro pats, if you may. He's cool, you know? Heading a Department that has Accidents and Catastrophes most of the time? He'd be in touch with the fellow too. See if he can solve some of his Departments future accidents and catastrophes. No wait.
There's another department for that right? Or was it dissolved, recently? He'd have to ask.

She was still a bit nervous, though she wouldn't admit it. Her application had been accepted - which was super exciting and something she'd been worried about for the past few weeks - but now that the time came for it to actually be happening and for her to actually be there and begin working...that was a bit nerve-wracking too.
But she could do it. Totally. She'd be fine.

On her way in, she noticed the guy sitting on a bike just outside of it. That was pretty awesome. It'd been awhile since she'd been around one of those things. "Cool bike," she commented with a grin.
And then came a pretty familiar loud voice. Merlin. "Hey there, Ember!" she said. At least there was one person Penelope already knew here then. That was nice.
And another fan of his bike! Why can't he have fans like his bike? This world is just unfair. Nonetheless, it got him attention, so it was all good. And just so everybody knows, his musclebike will have a nice place in his office. They can all gawk and drool at it anytime.
...
"Thank you, miss." Paxton grinned at the young lady, "I'm Pax--" Never mind. She's now with the hyper lady...oh. Ember's her name? Gotcha. Paxton may have to keep an eye out on Ember. Merlin's beard.

This would certainly be an interesting event. There weren’t any giant bears to act as a distraction this time either. Just socialization with people relatively her age.
And was she a fan too? Paxton caught her looking at his bike musclebike, and as soon as their eyes met, the man gave her a polite nod and grin. Well, he does look like he just got off from a road trip, but the event didn't require any dress code. Under or over-dressed, Paxton felt comfortable in his leather jacket and boots. Hmm.
Turning to his employee Lorenzo, "We should go inside. See what's in there." And maybe they could discuss his expected output from the young man? Yes, yes. That should happen. Make him feel that he's needed. Merlin, maybe all this dude needs is a great big hug. Maybe from that lady over there named Ember.
SPOILER!!: Kyle!

Paxton did a double take, as he was about to turn towards the Entrance and into the main area. What...was going on with that woman? Was she...oh wait a minute. He knows that face! From the records, at least. "You go ahead," He knew that Lorenzo will be irked from this, but he's got to get the job done as a DH. "We'll talk right after this." That is if he can figure out was was wrong with that woman.
...
Paxton carefully eyed the woman, and the awkward position that she was in. Thank Merlin he isn't a woman! "What's...wrong?" the 37-year old held out his hand for the woman to take. She'd probably end up sitting on her bum if she doesn't.

He said smoothly. The Brit looked at the girl that was standing next to the woman. Not much there to look at and then put his attention back to the woman.
Of course he didn't know who she was, but that was fine. She didn't need to have people know her. She wasn't a player or anyone of importance. "It's Victoria Culloden, Quidditch Division Manager." She stuck out her hand. "I have to say I was a bit surprised to see you here at orientation. Welcome to the ministry." She would leave out the part about being surprised he's not in her department. "I hope you are having a good time so far." Though it was just the entrance so he could have just gotten there.

She had smiled at the question, however. At least there hadn’t needed to be any apologies here either. “I’m having a lovely time, thank you. Everything is just so beautiful here, isn’t it?,” she replied, glancing around again although still making sure the two near her knew her focus was still on them. She could multitask. Besides, that little name slipup told her quite a bit. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Culloden,” she continued, smiling again. Just because her life was complicated didn’t mean she had to be jealous of others. She had enough for now. “Amethyst McCrae.” She left off any other information for now. It hadn’t seemed quite necessary when that hadn’t been asked.
Victoria was still getting use to her name change, she loved it and she loved the man that gave it to her, but goodness she had to get it right especially if she was introducing herself to possible new quidditch people. "I'm sorry, I was actually just married during the holiday and the last name is still very new." She knew she didn't have to explain, but it was weird screwing up your own last name. "Yes it is very pretty, I was a little shocked of the theme this year, but I do like that they try something different every orientation." She wished they could have had guess, but Cossy probably wouldn't have been able to come anyway.
"It's very nice to meet you too Amethyst. That is a very lovely name." One she hadn't heard in a while, but truly thought it was very pretty. "I'm going to assume you are new and I'm sorry if I'm wrong. What department are you going to be in?" She was just being curious and it was a hunch the woman was new.

Smiling at Mercedes she was glad that she was having a good time so far. "Well they try to change them up every year. This one I must say is a bit different." Nice though she would admit, pretty even. Though she wondered what the men actually thought of it, all the flowers and things seemed a bit girlish for them.
"You will be working directly under me actually. I'm the Quidditch Division Manager. So I am a step down from Mariel and over see all Quidditch things. Have you met her yet?" Which she assumed was probably a no since she hadn't seen her best friend yet either.
Enzo kept his attention on the two ladies that were near him, just waiting for them to talk. Then some guy just goes and interrupts him. Manners much! Enzo was already done with tonight and he had only been there for about ten or so minutes. His ability to deal with people today was a on a short and thin leash and this guy wasn't making it any better. WOAH, WOAH, WOAH! Did he just call him Lorenzo? NO, NO, NO! It didn't matter if you were the Queen of England, no one! Not even his own parents have the right to call him Lorenzo. The look on Enzo's face turned serious, stone cold and he pretty much looked like he was going to punch the man. Enzo waited to see if the man was going to make a correction to his name. No correction. The man was his boss.
"It's Enzo. Not Lorenzo." He said in a monotone. No that, that was cleared up he had to talk to him. "Yeah, nice to meet you, Robert Paxton." If this guy was really his boss he would know how to greet a person.

After speaking with Victoria Culloden, he heard the voice of his new boss. What was with this guy right now? "Yeah. I suppose that's a good idea." Enzo shrugged, he really didn't want to go inside because of the happy go lucky look about this party. There was still a part running through his mind about how this place just looked far to happy to even be real.

Vince sighed as he walked in. Could he hurry this up? He had band practice in three hours and he didn't want to be late. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he walked. His new girlfriend wasn't allowed to accompany him tonight whether the head would allow it or not, he didn't want to bring her along really, not until she broke it off with the weird forced fiance on the run for whatever reason. He sighed and looked around. He was already bored...
Vincent glanced around again. Maybe he should take the whole ministry thing more seriously. Yeah, his band was starting to become known but should that go wrong he should keep this job in mind and stay on good terms. He did like it at the ministry after all... He just didn't know if he'd want to spend the rest of his life doing it. It was dull at times and on the road he had freedom and got to meet more people.... But for now he'd have to be here, be bored, and maybe get to meet his new head.

Jasmine was excited to go to the orientation today. She was dressed in her best and was hoping to make a good impression and see her new boss. She had to admit she was quite early. She took a deep breath and gave herself a pep talk. "You can do this.." she told herself. "Just relax and breathe.." She took a step in her high heels and walked through the gates but as she was walking she noticed some new faces and was glad she wasn't the only one arriving. It seemed people had the same idea as her maybe she will linger around here and see who will show up.

Jory was amused when he noticed the man he bumped into did the same thing he had done almost immediately after recovering from the contact. The hair thing. Hair was important. Yes, yes. To prove the point, Jory smoothed his hair down again.
Firm grip, he noted from the other guy's handshake. Jory returned it, gripping the offered hand with what he was confident was just as firm. "Nice meeting you, Ezra. Jory Stonewall. YATI.'' So Ezra was the media liason. That explained the great interest he took in perfecting his appearance. Ah. He had lots of WHITE teeth. Probably bleached them real good.
"So you like being in the public eye. What's that like?''
Tyler turned around as someone else entered the room, followed by other people. This was good. He was beginning to think he had the wrong date or maybe he was too early.
......
Friendly bunch.
"Umm.no thanks..just looking around." She got a head tilt in her direction.

Text Cut: Paxton & Ember
On her way in, she noticed the guy sitting on a bike just outside of it. That was pretty awesome. It'd been awhile since she'd been around one of those things. "Cool bike," she commented with a grin.
And then came a pretty familiar loud voice. Merlin. "Hey there, Ember!" she said. At least there was one person Penelope already knew here then. That was nice.

Hellooo!
And yes. That bloke over there was the newly hired Broom Games Liaison. Yes, he remembered the face on his biodata. "Excuse me, ladies." Paxton got distracted when another fellow gave him a pat on the back.
Hmm.

Make him feel that he's needed. Merlin, maybe all this dude needs is a great big hug. Maybe from that lady over there named Ember.

Paxton carefully eyed the woman, and the awkward position that she was in. Thank Merlin he isn't a woman! "What's...wrong?" the 37-year old held out his hand for the woman to take. She'd probably end up sitting on her bum if she doesn't.
Ember nodded at the male person who said he was just loooooking around(YES ALL THE PRETTY THINGS!) and turned back to motorcycle man. WOWZA. His bike was SUPER snazzy! And everyone else was staring, too, so Ember a BIT less crazy...heh.
HE LOOKED...emotional at her question. As if..he was going to say no...but if he did Ember would be just SOOOOO sad? Ugh. She just wanted to pet it? "A RIDE?!" Wait. Wait. A RIDE. EMBER WAS SO DOWN FOR A RIDE LIKE WHUT EVEN. She could have died and been the happiest soul that ever LIVED. Her smile didn't even fit on her FACE. "You'd REAAAAALLY take me for a RIDE? Oh--but--you know--" she quickly took a few deep breaths and tried her best to calm down..."I...um. Well, I'd HATE to intrude, youu know?" she said and she shrugged a bit. "it's a very nice bike. Have you named it?" OF course a bike needed a NAAAME?
Her lavender eyes grazed across the scene once more--and OH! She spotted another face--PENELOPE! "Mr. New Sir--I'll see you around--I'm Ember by the way--" and she leapt off to go wave at Penelope. GREENWELL. Penelope GREENWELL. What had been her middle name again?
"HI PENELOPE! See? I work here! YOU WORK HERE NOW TOOOOO?" she asked, with a wide grin.
Ember could have cried she was so excited. Maybe she was crying. Maybe she was crying happy tears. MAYBE.

Vincent glanced over, was there a girl talking to herself? He raised a brow but went over to her. She actually looked close to his age. That was rare to him anymore, everyone seemed to be old and boring and just ugh... Maybe he would have more reason than just making sure he had a back up should his band's plan's fall apart. He smiled slightly and looked at her, "Hey there." He nodded to the girl, "Vincent, and you are?"

Kyleigh gulped slightly as she thought she was falling, and then there was a voice asking her what was wrong…and a hand. Oh nice hand. Thanks for the hand…but the voice was kind of familiar. Kyle didn’t care though she quickly grabbed onto his hand and pulled herself upward while shaking it.
“Oh, ugh…s-sorry” she blushed and realized she did know the voice and the face it belonged to. “Nothings wrong really, I just made the telltale error of wearing heels. Last time I wore them I fell face first into a cake.” She admitted with a laugh.
She wasn’t opposed to laughing at herself, though she was blushing because his face was a nice face. “I’m Kyleigh Tanner, Broom Features Development for the Transportation department” she re-introduced herself to the guy who had saved her from embarrassment. “Thank you for the hand” she added as she finally let go of it.
That was awkward.

Paxton had to squint a bit, not because he’s irritated, but because he’s amused and tried to catch every word that Ember was saying. Maybe she’s not that bad, you know? Pax liked her enthusiasm and admiring one of his motorbikes make him really happy. “Sure, why not?” he’s new and it doesn’t hurt to make friends, yes? Plus, he was determined to make an impression. See, Ember is the friendly type, and if he makes a good impression on her, then it’ll be easier to make acquaintances. Word of mouth, right there. “Her name’s Roxy. She’s beautiful.” Paxton nodded as he glanced at his baby. “And no, not really. As long as you are with me, Roxy won’t mind.” The new department head nodded reassuringly.
“Pleasure to meet you Ember, I’m Pax—" And there goes another one. Sighing and letting out a chuckle, he turned to his grouch companion.

Someone was definitely born on a cloudy…maybe stormy day. The kid, whom Paxton realized was a Pro-Quidditch player was definitely being…a party pooper. Shame. Stuff like outdoor parties should be appreciated, because hello outdoors! But then, the young man just might be having a bad day. One could hope.
“Enzo. Noted.” What didn’t made sense to the 37-year old was the fact that he wrote the name ‘Lorenzo’ on his application. He should have made a note somewhere that he despises his own name. Psh. Weird child.
He’d have to catch up on the new Broom Games Liaison Officer in a while, because there are other employees that he still needs to meet, like…the blushing woman he just saved from embarrassment. "I'll see you in a while."

That was awkward.
Paxton will never get why women had to wear those ridiculous shoes in garden parties, though it sure looks good on them! “No need to apologize, miss.” The 37 year old grinned at the woman as he casually checked on her feet. Those things really looked painful. He too chuckled at her remark, and shook his head. “Today, we’re going to have fun. No face-planting on cakes.” It’ll be hilarious though! Haha!
Oh so that’s why she looked familiar. She does belong to his Department. He failed to remember what particular position though. Paxton returned the handshake with a gentle one as he introduced himself. “Good to finally meet you in person, Ms. Kyleigh Tanner. I’m Robert Paxton, your new Department Head.” Hi, hello. “Oh and you’re welcome.” He said as he let go of her hand. “Can you…walk though?” Merlin’s beard. Carrying a fellow employee inside the venue wasn’t part of his job description.
SPOILER!!: Vincent!

While waiting for more employees to arrive, Paxton saw another familiar face. Again, the man’s particular position in his Department escaped him. He really should review those bios again. As soon as he met the man’s eyes, Paxton gave him a polite nod of acknowledgement and a grin.
Wait, is he in a hurry too?

In the woods? With real bears and scary stuff? Back home in the muggle world, they'd call it Team Building.
Yeah, maybe that should happen next year. Just to keep everyone on their toes at the very first day of work. Paxton snapped out of his reverie when a woman waved at him. He was startled at first because it has been years since a woman waved at him. The 37-year old grinned and approached her. He should really start talking and make friends. "Hello there, are you from the Ministry?" Are you new? Are you looking for friends? Do you wanna be friends?
Tabitha smiled at the man. "I am new to the Ministry. I work in the Minister's Office. I would love to make some friends. I only just moved from America to London last year. Oh, I love your motorbike. I'm Tabitha," she held out her hand for the man to shake.
Haha!

“I will try not to” she grinned at the older (still very attractive) man when he was chuckling about her story. She still didn’t know she had so much as shared it but it got a laugh at least. That was good right? “Hey the face planting was pretty funny,” she grinned, “it made my brothers laugh” she laughed, her nose crinkling as she did so.
Wait. Did she hear him properly? She had thought she was just talking to a coworker not, not to her boss. Her eyes went wide for a moment she had to remember to be professional right? At least she hadn’t introduced herself as Kyle. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Paxton,” she smiled over to him.
Oh, he was…asking if she could walk? Why – oh right she had nearly fallen. “I’m sure I will survive, if not I will just take these stupid things off and toss them into the boating lake for good measure” she continued grinning.
Did she look like a Cheshire cat? Maybe. But, well her nerves did that to her. She was talking to her boss right now he had the ability to fire her and all she could think was he had a pretty face and well…his jacket was nice. Stop eying your boss she scolded herself inwardly and knew that she was probably blushing somewhat – but she had just basically rambled on to her boss like a lunatic.

As her conversations had continued, Amethyst had almost forgotten her original notice of the man on the motorbike. At least, she had until she’d glanced around again to see that he was looking straight at her, then giving her a smile and a nod. Of course. People didn’t shout across rooms and it wasn’t as if she wasn’t talking to other people anyway. She could always find out if the bike was an affectation or a real thing later on, without having to excuse herself from her other conversations. Although she did return the smile, politely. At the very least, to show she’d acknowledged the gesture and wasn’t rude. She certainly didn’t want anyone thinking she was rude on essentially her first day at her new job.
The girl who had originally approached her hadn’t responded yet, but then Victoria certainly had. The smile had been turned to the older woman as Amethyst returned to the discussion. “Oh, there’s no need to apologize. I’m certain anyone could feel the same way were they in that situation,” she replied. No need to point out that she wasn’t one of those, but the events of the past had been out of her control. Everything had settled into a good place now, but it wasn’t the same. “Was it so different in previous years?” If she hadn’t already decided Victoria was a returning employee, that would have verified it.
She’d blinked at the reaction to her name, as well. “…Thank you,” she said. She liked her name, but it was certainly unique. That and it had led to a few nicknames when she was younger, but she’d adapted to that. “I am,” she verified. Definitely new, and apparently nearing awkward. “I was hired as the new administration supervisor for the Minister’s office.” Which had been a surprise, simply because it hadn’t been anywhere near what she’d done previously. Although she imagined they knew what they were doing when they’d accepted her application.

"I think its nice. It reminds me of the Botanical gardens back home." Her and Chris had visited one while they were in New York for New Years. It was really nice.
So She would be working with her. Good. At least she already knew her and didn't have deal with meeting new people. She already knew one. So getting to know the rest would not be as bad. "Good. That makes me happy to know someone that I'll actually be working with." She smiled at the other blonde.
"No not yet. I was hoping to run into her here." Although she didn't know what her Department head looked like. But she really hoped that she would meet her her instead of going in her first day and introducing herself there.

Another ministry orientation that marked another anniversary and another year of working at the ministry. And most importantly...the fact that the ministry was reopening. Simon might enjoy the breaks more now that he and Angelina were together, but that still didn't mean he enjoyed putting everything on hold that he had been working on. Time to get on the wagon again and be back to doing what he loved.
As he approached the entranceway to this year's gathering, the auror had to admit it was a nice setting. I reminder if what was to come when the winter broke finally. Simon allowed his gaze to take in both his surroundings and the people already there in the vicinity keeping his skills sharp. It was then that he noticed both Kyle and Jory hanging around the area.
Opting to take the co-worker route since the other was occupied as well as being awkward, he made his way towards the YATI. Though Simon remained quiet for the moment as he heard the conversation happening. Public eye? This wasn't a reporter...right?
