Welcome to the team then," she said, still smiling, this time, though, toward Evander.
"Let's get the meeting underway, shall we?" she said, making a statement more than asking a question. She rose and allowed her eyes to travel the room again before saying, "I'd like to officially introduce and welcome our three new team members. Mr. Charles D'Isigny," she said, nodding once toward the man, "will be heading the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. Miss Sion Jetza has requested a move to the Department of Mysteries, which has, of course been granted."
"Mr. Ikenna Gevrik will be heading Magical Maintenance and Security," she continued, giving Gevrik a nod, as well. "...and last but certainly not least, Mr. Evander Bole has just accepted the position of Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement." She paused and allowed the new information to settle in.
"Commendation to you, Minister Carlton." The newest arrival swept through the door and bowed fluidly, efficiently.
"Excellent introductions. Quite excellent." His fingers flickered strangely. A nervous tick or some sort of sign?
The man came to rest standing behind the minister and a little bit to one side. Bodyguard perhaps?
Perhaps not.
"I'm not entirely sure that I warrant an invitation from our esteemed minister here, so I shall, in brief, offer my own." Was that expression reverential? Respectful? He bowed slightly at the assembled department heads, not showing any particular acknowledgement to any of them. Not yet. Nothing special.
"But I am, Martel D'Isigny and I have been fortunate enough to be invited to assist Minister Carlton. As her advisor one might say. And of course, such an August body as the Minister of Magic should not ever need to fend of the pesky press, so I shall be... handling such things as required."
He nodded around the room.
"Greetings Sion Jetza, Armen Recard, Gina Latorta, Rex Vindictus, Erica Radley, Ikenna Gevrik," And here a smile,
"Evander Bole, and Charles D'Isigny." Indeed, indeed.
"No nepotism here, simply a coincidence. A remarkable coincidence." This man, Martel, he had done his homework, that much was clear. He also appeared quite genuine in his greetings, his smile was charming and comforting and there was something about his presence. There was a slight hint of a French accent as he spoke. Not strange, considering he had come from there. Advisor and Campaign Manager for the French Minister for the past several years, it was actually rather pleasant to experience a change of scenery.
Rather pleasant indeed.
He flicked his fingers again, somewhat absently.
"Do continue and forgive my interruption." He stayed standing behind the minister, just slightly to one side. In easy reach if she happened to need anything at all.
