For a few weeks now we've been hearing conflicting rumors about Mira Nair's involvement in talks with WB about filming the fifth Harry Potter film.
The Strait Times now has an interview with her where, once again, the subject of directing a Potter film, has arisen.
Quote:
Letting her heart guide her decisions has also meant taking the road less travelled. She has been offered the job of directing the fifth instalment of the wildly successful Harry Potter series.
But while some would jump at the chance to direct a blockbuster, she is wary.
'I'm weighing it and wondering,' she says. 'For me, it's really what moves me to make this movie. Do I really want to devote two years of my life to Harry Potter?'
As if she realises she might sound too portentous, she cracks a self-deprecating joke that nonetheless carries a sting of truth: 'It's quite an obsessive act making a film.'
