Patroclus had a profound belief in his transfiguring abilities after all, his mother was at one time the Transfiguration Professor at Beauxbatons.
Looking at the boat, he same that in a way his sandal and it were very similar, the shape, the sturdiness and the functionality. Hism mother had always taught him to find the similarities in transfigured objects, rather than their differences when it came to reversing the affects.
Staring at the boat, he raised his wand, and with a slight tap spoke the incantation "Reverto!" However the inital results were rather underwhelming. He tried again "Reverto!" This time there was definite improvement, the boat was now navy and made of leather. "So close" Patroclus whispered to himself.
Giving himself one last attempt, Patroclus focused, re called on memories; memories of what it felt like to wear his sandals, he mentally wiggled his toes in the sandals, felling them hit the sole and the upper of the leather. With these thoughts and feeling embedded in his mind he gave it a shot, "Reverto!"
Success, his sandals had returned. Preston nodded as he continued around the room. Quote:

After staring at the frisbee, but thinking about the ugly pink sunshades, she gave her wand a wave. "Reverto!"
Part of the frisbee grew a transparent shade of pink from the lenses of the shades but changed no more. She twirled her wand between her fingers and tried to focus more on the frisbee. Taking note of her progress, he continued around, happy to see that she had attempted the spell. Quote:

He set the peacock butt-first on the desk, letting the tail-feathers fall over the side and onto the floor, and sat back down. Sitting as it was, the bird didn't look nearly as majestic as before.
Okay, time to look for comparisons. This was a lot easier when he knew what the item had been in the first place. Look at the bird, compare it to a comb, then backtrack the steps. Part of him wondered if the next part of the class would be untransfiguring things they didn't know the original item for.
The tail-feathers were pretty clearly the teeth of the comb, but the rest... ugh. Where the heck were the ends? And it was hard to picture all these brilliant colours as just dark grey and blue. Kellen observed the peacock a little closer, and noticed something on its stomach... the brand mark. So, if that was there... and the teeth of the comb were there, then the ends would be... oh but wait don't forget the colour... Reverto. He blinked, looking at a predominantly-gray-with-some-blue peacock. The peacock was looking at itself too, and puffed up its feathers indignantly. "Yeah, I'd be pretty peeved too," Kellen remarked. "Re--" whoops. In the head. Reverto.
He thought he was done. He looked done. But then he ran a finger along the teeth of the comb and they still felt soft and decidedly un-plastic. A final Reverto fixed that problem.
As an afterthought, Kellen removed the sticking charm from his desk. Professor Kingsley took little notice of the peacock stuck to the desk, as he continued his rounds. Quote:

Pretty sure that she could clearly see it in her mind, she took a deep breath and opened her eyes. With a flourish of her wand, she thought hard, "Reverto!"
And there before her eyes was her original friendship bracelet. Grinning in excitement, she called out to the professor, waving her hand in the air. "Professor Kingsley! I did it! I got it!" Attention drawn by an enthusiastic cry, Preston nodded. "Well done. But, shh." He put a finger to his lips before moving on. Quote:

When she opened her eyes at gazed at the pink sunshades and a smile crept on her face. Picking them up, she began to inspect the shades, making sure that they were completly back to their original form. Preston made note to follow up with the young 'puff at some point. Quote:

He looked over his notes and tried to memorize them. Perhaps he'd get more practice with the wand movements later. He seemed pretty happy about the results of the class. :: Preston kept an eye on the troublemaker in the corner. Mild distractions, to be sure, but worth watching, none-the-less. Quote:

Okay, nope. That didn't work. Alriiiight. Another try then. "Reverto!"
No obvious change, but the only way he'd know for sure...
He took off the silencio charm and dropped his wand as he covered his ears.
...Nothing. Silence. Shocked, Jimbo slowly looked up at the toy soldier and grinned. He did it! He did it- TWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! "Oh, DARN! Silencio!"
URGH. Really? Alright, alright. Another try it is. "Reverto!"
Take away silence charm, drop wand, cover ears. Hear nothing, look up catiously, wait five seconds hear the TWEET and SILENCE CHARM!
This mayyy take a while.
He repeated the process again and again until he the soldier stayed silent for more than 10 seconds. He still didn't trust it though. He held his wand pointed at it, bracing himself. He waited 20 seconds, 40 seconds, a minute. Nothing happened. He waited for 5 minutes and nothing happened. Aha! Defeated!
Proud, Jimbo got up and did a little jig, as he mocked the toy soldier. "I won, you lost, you lost, I won! Aha! I won, you lose! I rule!" Preston rubbed his ear. Between the tweeting and the yelling, it was quite unpleasantly loud. "Please sit down. We're moving on."
----------------
Returning to the front of the room, Preston tucked his wand away. "Alright! If you haven't managed to untransfigure your item, do not worry. You will have plenty of opportunity to do so for homework, and if, failing success then, the spell will wear off in time. Please put the items away, or if they are too large at the moment, at least make sure you have some room on your desk."
*ooc: We are moving on. If you would like your student to be successful, you may do so as part of your next post. However, Professor Kingsley has moved on, so don't be a distraction. Professor Kingsley returned to the blackboard and wrote a single word. Horolos. "Part of your homework will be to continue practicing untransfiguration, but since I cannot be with you at all times to transfigure your items, I will also be teaching you a transfiguration spell today."
He tapped the board with his hand. "Horolos. Any guesses as to what it might do?" He looked out over the class. "I'll give you a hint. The incantation is similar to the name muggles give the study of this object."
