After doing her thing, she composed herself , patiently waiting for the class to start. Preston quirked an eyebrow as he watched a muggle electronic be placed on the table. Usually, he wouldn't consider it an item without value, though he supposed since it wouldn't work on the grounds...
He was distracted by the returning student. Quote:

Walking back to her seat, she avoided anyone's gaze; mentally cursing herself for not being a morning person. Maybe she should start drinking really strong coffee before going to classes. He gave her a kind smile. "It's quite alright. I'm sure you're not the only one who will." Watching as she retrieved her items, he wondered if the bracelet had value.
Had no one read the boards? Quote:

What personal item you brought: A diamond necklace Preston did not answer her. He was too busy blinking at the diamond necklace. Either she hadn't read or she considered jewels to be of no value. Either way, he was a little stunned. Quote:

She had taken out the journal and placed it on the table along with her wand on the table before placing the piece of parchment next to it. Preston nodded in greeting. A journal was most appropriate. Difficult. But appropriate. Quote:

He really didn't want to give it up for anything, it felt like a part of him. But as long as he got it back he'd be fine, right? Flicking his wrist slightly, it shot into his waiting fingers and he gingerly placed the precious item on the table next to the parchment and necklace. "That's quite alright. Take your seat. Wand and personal item on your desk." Quote:

He took out some parchment and his quill and wrote:
He then took out a pair of socks he'd bought with his friend Mina two summers ago and placed them on his desk. He then placed his wand down and waited for the lesson to start. "Ah, Mister Phillips. Good day. I trust you've enjoyed your reading?" Professor Kingsley smiled as he watched the boy take his seat. SPOILER!!: Ivy Quote:

It might've been because her dreams last night had been just that. Simple dreams and not nightmares. It might've been because she'd gotten a letter from her parents that morning and that never failed to make her feel better about the world...and it might've been because she'd woken up with this song in her head and she couldn't quite seem to get rid of it.
Not that she'd want to...heavens no. It served it purpose, even though she couldn't for the love of Merlin remember what the name of the song was....even though it was an extremely catchy one.
Nevertheless, it was with this catchy tune on her lips that Ivory walked into the Tranfiguration classroom and plopped herself down excitedly in a seat right next to her best friend.
But not before giving the new Professor a friendly wave and bright smile of course.
A smile that conveyed it all. Her respect and love for the subject he taught and her unconditional acceptance of a new teacher.
Bringing out a parchment and quill from her mokeskin beaded storage belt, she carefully printed out the necessary information before taking out a certain item from her pocket. Professor Kingsley turned at the sound of more humming and saw a young girl smiling and waving. He gave an appreciative nod, smiling lightly himself. He certainly hoped all his students were that pleased to be in class. Quote:

As she moved toward the desks, she gave the professor a greeting smile. "Good day, sir," she said cheerfully. Then, she plopped down in a seat near the front of the classroom and pulled out some parchment and a quill.
Ta-da! Abby put down her fan and quill. Ick. She still didn't like writing with quills. "Good day," he said with a nod. Quote:

She looked down at her wrist, that bracelet was the only thing she had. Was she willing to use this though? Her father had given this to her before he dies and she's expected to use her only personal item in class? Nonetheless she took out some parchment and filled out the following after passing the professor and saying... "Hello Professor.... Looking forward to your class.. sir." Then she proceeded to her parchment which said "Glad to hear it, Miss Quirregan," he responded with a smile. He frowned, however, when he saw her parchment. Only bracelet. Quote:

So no goofing off in this class, maybe. "Quite alright, just please don't do it again." He nodded at her briefly. Quote:

Well, that was a shame, but hey, for all he knew the old dear was off in some Southern country kicking back and sipping sugary drinks, so there was no sense in wishing she'd come back. He walked over to a desk and sat down, filling out the card like the professor had asked: Preston watched the classroom fill up. A comb. Yes, quite excellent. He nodded as he watched more students enter. Quote:

They had been a pair of blue socks until Sidney's brother Harry decided to experiment on them. Even her parents haven't been able to change the color back to normal. Sidney proceeds to take out a piece of parchment, ink, and quill and writes the information down for the professor. Sidney then walks up to the front of the class. "Hello, I don't believe I've met you. "I'm Sidney Marlowe." She extends her hand for the professor to shake. Preston looked down and extended his hand as well. "Good to meet you, Miss Marlowe. Now please, take your seat. Class will be starting soon." Quote:

Ehgad wiggled his naked toes and felt quite pleased with his actions. He smiled broadly and leaned back in his chair waiting to hear the girls reaction. Something about gross things made Ehgad so happy. :: Quote:

His eyes wandered back to the young lady that was introducing herself to the Professor. She was so organized and polite. Not too mention a bit pretty. She looked about his own age.
He stood up, he changed his mind. His stomach began to ache and his heart race. He watched them a few more moments.... :: Preston was considering adding a 'no sunglasses' rule to his noticeboard when he heard a girl's voice echo quite loudly. Disgusting idiot? It didn't take long to notice that the boy with the shoe for his personal item was now only wearing one sock, as well. "You will retrieve your sock, put it and your shoe back on and sit over there." Preston gestured to the corner of the room where a single desk sat without any nearby. "Now." Preston's voice was even, but cold. He tolerated no tomfoolery in his classroom, and frankly, that sock was going to make people ill.
Eying the boy, he walked over to where the young Miss Samson had fled. To her, he spoke in a softer, kinder tone. "I know you felt like you needed to say something, but next time, just let me know and I can take care of it, alright? I don't like yelling in my classroom. Or name calling. Even if you think someone deserves it." He gave her a small smile to let her know that she wasn't in trouble... yet. Quote:

Walking into the classroom though, Evelyn smiled for a split moment at the professor before sitting near...OMG! JOSH! *squee* Sitting near Josh, Destiny, and Marie, the Slytherin set down her bag before getting out a parchment and quill. Seemed like nametags were the new thing this term.
Placing the braclet on the desk, and her wand but keeping that one generally close to her hand juuust in case, the Slytherin smiled widely before looking around. Hehe. Josh was here. Quote:
