What did Dumbledore's Howler to Petunia mean?:
Quote:
So: Dumbledore is referring to his last letter, which means, of course, the letter he left upon the Dursleys' doorstep when Harry was one year old. But why then (you may well ask) did he not just say 'remember my letter?' Why did he say my last letter? Why, obviously because there were letters before that…
Now let the speculation begin, and mind you type clearly, I'll be watching…

Obviously there were more letters before that - why would Dumbledore have sent Petunia/Vernon letters before Harry was taken to their house: possibly to warn them about Voldemort?!
She also answered the question of
How old are Bill and Charlie?
Here is the rather confusing reply she gives:
Quote:
|
Bill is two years older than Charlie, who is three years older than Percy, who is two years older than Fred and George, who are two years older than Ron, who is a year older than Ginny.
|
Percy, in PoA is 5 years older than Harry (as he's Head Boy that year) making him 18 by the end of it. Which means, as Harry was born in 1980, Percy respectively must have been born in 1975 making him 29 sometime this year. Charlie is three years older than him, making him 32 which makes Bill 34. This also fits as, using the description JK has given, we can deduce that Ginny is 24 as of 2004, which she is according to when JK celebrated Ginny's birthday on her site, a few months ago.
JK has also denied the rumor that she based Harry on her cousin 'Ben', in her
Rubbish Bin.

He is not based on any of the men I have met during my lifetime who wore glasses, or any of the boys who had a scar somewhere on their face, or any of my friends who went to boarding school.

In "Philosopher's Stone" Aunt Petunia says that Lily came back from Hogwarts with frog spawn in her pockets and turned teacups into rats. If this is true, why wasn't Lily expelled? Quote:
|
However, just like her son, Lily was not averse to testing the limits of the Statute of Secrecy, so you can safely assume she will have had a few warning letters – nothing too serious, though.

Did the character Hedvig in Henrik Ibsen's "The Wild Duck" influence the naming of Harry Potter's owl? Will there be two chapters in the sixth book called 'Lupin's Papers' and 'The Lovegoods in Court'? Quote:
|
No, that's another pile of Storgé, I'm afraid.
|
You say that people cannot Apparate or Disapparate within Hogwarts and yet Dobby manages it, why is this? Do you believe in fate? Why did you make the Leprechaun gold disappear in "Goblet of Fire" and Harry not notice? Quote:
|
Harry doesn't worry about money, because he's got enough of it. Ron, on the other hand, is poor, and he cannot imagine how it must be not to notice a pocketful of gold disappearing.
|
Are you going to kill any more characters? Peeves chews gum, how can he when he is a ghost? (Nearly Headless Nick can't eat). Why didn't Fred and George notice Peter Pettigrew on the Marauder's Map before ("Prisoner of Azkaban")? If a teacher is head of a house, can we assume that they were sorted into those houses when they were students at Hogwarts? Is that also true for the house ghosts? So was Snape a Slytherin? How did Colin's camera work inside Hogwarts if it was a Muggle camera ("Chamber of Secrets")? Do you like Sirius Black? Did James and Lupin switch bodies before James was killed? What is your advice to children who are being bullied?
