Yeahhh, Mr White! Yeah science!

Coffee, coffee, coffee...

Downing the drink, Nathan wished he had got another couple of shots of espresso in there to make sure his eyes stayed open during this meeting because judging by past ones, it was going to be loooong.. and full of journalist type things that the Layout Editor had no clue about. He could tell you a brand of ink these days just from the smell alone; but writing was not the man's forte.

“Ms Knoll.”
He smiled a slightly more alert and warm smile than before and nodded at the blonde woman as she welcomed him; then he focused on Ian. Clap yourself on the back for arriving first? A flash of a smile and Nathan winked at the guy, deciding that he was being funny... rather than rude.

Next through the door were Ms Jones and Jane, closely followed by Pepper whom Nathan directed nods and smiles at in greeting. He eyed the files Pepper dumped on the table and he inwardly groaned. See? Journalist stuff... and LOTS of it by the look of all that paperwork. He looked at his now empty mug longingly, though his eyes snapped up to meet Ian's again as the meeting started. Rico was gone and IAN was the new Editor-in-Chief? Swallowing involuntarily at this bit of news because, lets face it, Ian was like a male version of Getti Ford (and she was scarier than a Dementor who'd got out of bed on the wrong side), and he thought those days at the Prophet were over. He glanced at all the other faces in the room to see their reactions before he focused on the new boss again. Where was Rico? The man who was so down to earth and could have been considered a mate. Had he had enough of the British and their weather and gone back to the Sunny States? Biting his bottom lip, Nathan wanted to ask questions, but it appeared Ian was clueless as to what had happened to the American bloke.

He took the parchment from Ian and scanned the details of the new layout staff. From his past experience, people were never the way they appeared on paper. He placed the parchment on the table in front of him, clasped his hands together and looked at the new Bossman. No – he didn't have any questions. Not about work anyway.
