CHAPTER 8

Hermione banged her goblet onto the table, her and Ron were having another fight, one of which Harry chose to ignore. This such fight was becoming a recent one between them.

"Ron what i do after hours is none of your buisness"

She told him for the up-tenth time in a forthnight. True be told she had yet met Draco in one of there many late night meeting's in the gorunds. Hermione looked round the hall, she could other students eating there Easter egg's early, as it was nearing that time of year again. It had been months since her and Draco became a couple, and she was thrilled they had kept it a secret fo so long.

"Why wont you tell me? It's a simply question, Even Harry wants to know" He looked at Harry for support.

He held up his hands, "Don't bring me into this!" He quickly said, to Ron's displeasure, and turned back to his thoughts filled with his certain someone.

Hermione had had enough, she grabbed her bag from the seat next to her and stood up, ready to leave. "I'll find out sometime Hermione" Ron shot at her from his plate of hardly touched food, something that was never seen. She turned to glare at him, "Why cant you leave me alone!" She shot back in a hiss. She was really angry.

"Im trying to save you from pain, im your best friend" He looked at her, not in anger, only the look of friendship. She saw a glimps of shine in his eye.

She stalked away, her bag bumping her side as she took each step towards her next class. Potions. She was early, leaning against the damp wall of the dungeon corridor, she prepared to wait for the rest of the class. Within minutes students began to filter towards her, forming two lines, one for the Gryffindor's, the other for the Slytherin's. Draco was at the head of his line, his few friends lining behind him. Pansy right behind him, she placed her hands round his waist, she hug herself to him.

"Draco, do you want to walk with me later?" She asked, in her annoying voice. Hermione saw, from her spot in the line, Draco looked down at her hands before plucking them off and moving away. She began to breath again, he didn't look at her so she moved her eyes to stare down the corridor. The talk and laughter was picking up all around her, she saw Ron, followed closely by Harry, walk towards him. He now looked angry, the tips of his ears red. Ron spoke to Harry in a low voice, something she couldn't here, but Harry could. Harry stared at him for a moment before turning and walking towards her, as Ron walked towards the back of the line. Harry cleared his throat as he stopped in front of her, looking at her straight he recited in a low voice. Whcih Draco could hear from his short distant away

"Ron-Ron was wondering if you wanted to go for a walk with him later. He's really sorry about earlier and well everything" he told her, looking at his feet.

She was confused, if that's what he wanted to know, then why was he angry? Hermione stared at Harry, she could see Draco out the corner of her eye, he had gone bone stiff, listening quitely. She could tell. She walked closer to Harry

"Why's he so angry then?" She whispered, wanting no one to hear.

"He caught Ginny with a new boyfriend" He whispered back, she could see the pain in hsi eyes. She wasn't stupid she knew he liked her, and Ginny did the same.

"Alright fine, but why didn't he tell me himself?" She asked, wanted to change the subject fast.

"He was afraid of what you would say. So will you?" He asked, looking up at her.

She smiled weakly, "I cant Harry, I-i have stuff to do"

He just shrugged and walked off to the back of the line, off to report to Ron. Her last line had been loud enough for Draco to hear, she could see his small smile aimed at her. Just then the dungeon door opened and Snape walked out, it suddenly went quite.

"In" he simply said, moving to let the students past. They all stalked in one by one. The Slytherin's with grins on their faces, the Gryffindor's with anger, frowns, anything by smiles on their faces.

"Everyone at the fron of the class, im pairing up!" Sanpe called from the door. People moaned as the stood in the semi-darkness.

"Right then," He then said when the door banged behind him, no one spoke, no one moved. "Malfoy,Granger. Potter,Goyle. Parkinson,Weasley," He began, "Crabbe,Thomas Finnigan,Smith..." He droaned on pairing everyone up, everyone he knew whould hate to be together.

Hermione's heart skipped a beat when she learned she was to pair up with Darco, she half smiled before stopping herself. She must not show pleasure in being his partner, instead she disgusted at the thought. She sat down on a stool, Draco followed soon after, nither looking at each other, or showing any signs of liking each other. The lesson dragged on.
