Werecats are people too! Reader of Fan Fictions

Hey everyone. I hope I still have readers after the last chapter. But, are you all sure you read it correctly?
I guess you'll have to read on and find out.

Veggie_Potter: Stef, I'm glad you brought this up.

I like what you put in about the silvery substance sticking around and becoming a map.
This was as I said, a new type of Patronus Frank was working on. And if you remember, Neville uses his dad's wand. And when he is in the DA the last time before Umbridge found them, Neville was able to produce a "feeble wisps of silver smoke" He didn't know it, but just like Harry produced his dad's Patronus, the Stag, neville produced his dad's patronus the silver wispy smoke. A coded map of where to find them if there's trouble.

Molly W.: Stephie,

I was expecting tragedy with the Longbottom's, dreading it with James and Lilly...but...Teddy? :'(
You know what to expect, and it will come, but all is not lost.

Lord Greenie: Hey Sonny! Though I don't even know you, I'm sure there isn't an evil bone in your body. I'm glad you like my story, and love will return, just not for a bit.

Obi-Wan K'Lari: K'Lari,

ARRRRRRRRRRRG!!!
Girl you got that right! If only you had your light saber! Yes, you could have taken out the Lestrange's AND Nagini!
Quote:
Her insane love for Voldermort makes more sense this way, with her husband dead
Yes, exactly my thinking. And I'm pretty sure he is killed, I'll have to look that up and make sure.

Thank you, and just let me say, things aren't always what they seem.

To all my readers, thank you for reading. I hope you all like this new chapter, and the next chapter, (14) I'll post next Thurs. or Fri. is titled, "Joy In A Time Of Overwhelming Fear" It is a fun chapter for the most part.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
And What of Neville?

The following morning Professor Dumbledore came to see Teddy. K’Lari had told him that Teddy woke up again and asked about the Longbottom’s condition. He was devastated to hear what happened. "Alive, but insane. Was there nothing but hardships left to live in this world?" he asked her sadly.

“Hello Teddy. Look who I brought with me.” Dumbledore said jovially.
Teddy looked intently at the baby in Dumbledore’s arms. He smiled, still very weak, and asked if he could bring him closer. Normally he wasn’t to keen on being around these little people that seemed to take enormous amounts of time and energy to take care of, and was usually rewarded with partially digested stuff heaved from within, all over you, resulting from the smallest burp, or slight movement. Nevertheless, he had to see that he was ok. Dumbledore studied him for a moment then set Neville on his bed. He sat there with a vague look in his eyes, but other than that, he looked perfectly normal.

“He’s fine, fully recuperated, thanks to you and your wife. He will have a rough way to go until he heals mentally. We had to perform a very deep memory charm on him. He will be able to learn and function, but only just. With so many pathways closed in his mind, it tends to give the feeling that something is just not right. He just won’t have the fullest of confidence in himself. He will second-guess himself so much that he’ll end up with very low self-esteem although he has the ability to be brilliant. I am very confident that he will come out of it fine in time.”

Teddy tried to smile at Neville, but could only manage a partial one. A tear welled up in his eye and fell down his square jaw. “I’m sorry Neville, I’m so sorry,” he said softly. Neville looked at Teddy, and climbed over the cumbersome bandages, and bedding. He positioned his little self over Teddy, opened his mouth, and planted a great slobbery kiss on Teddy’s eye. “Nevys Teddy Bear all better?” “All better, thank you Neville.” Teddy said winking at him, only keeping his eye closed. K’Lari dabbed the slobber off his eye, then turned to dab her own eyes. Neville smiled showing his four front teeth, and then he laid down on Teddy’s chest, got a handful of Teddy’s long hair, and slept with a free thumb in his mouth.

“I guess he was tired, Teddy said. His own voice sounding tired.” Dumbledore said that sense being rescued this was the first time he has gone to sleep on his own. “He doesn’t understand why his,” he cleared his throat and started to reach for Neville. “I’ll take him back to his room for you Teddy.”

“Oh, well, only if you have to. I mean he is ok here. It only hurts just a tiny bit. If you don’t mind he can stay here.” He added with authority, and keeping a hand on the baby’s back.
For two hours, Teddy and Dumbledore discussed the Order and of accomplishments made. K’Lari asked about the Potters, and other members, friends of theirs. Neville’s’ grandmother came in unceremoniously and said she had been searching the whole hospital for him, but softened when she saw Neville slumbering so peacefully on Teddy.

“I’m sorry” she said, “It’s only on account of that they said I could take him to see his parents now. They’re both awake,” then she went over to Teddy and just touched his shoulder, with what one would assume to be a gesture of affection. “Thank you son. Albus told all of us of the tremendous courage and bravery you,”

“No,” Teddy interjected roughly, even in his extremely weekend state. He wouldn’t accept praise and laud for something he didn’t feel he deserved. “I didn’t do anything anyone else would have done.”

“I think not.” She said gruffly. Neville woke and gripped Teddy’s gown at the sound of his grandma’s voice. She reached over to get him, but Teddy put up his hand.

“Hang on a minute.” He twirled his wand and a beautiful ivy plant appeared in his hand. It had tiny little buds on it that changed colors every little bit. “It’s a mood vine, Neville. See it change when I put it in your hands?” It did indeed change colors. Neville squealed with delight. Plants are wonderful friends to have, because you can talk to them, and they don’t get mad at what you say, they can make powerful medicine to make everything better, and they can make things blow up when you need-”

“Tell Teddy thank you.” Grandma ordered.

“Thank you.” Neville shouted in his exuberance and started to lean in to give another very slobbery kiss. Teddy smiled and closed his eyes to receive it, but it did not come.

“Stop that now!” Grandma put in sharply.

Neville stopped abruptly. “Nevy love Teddy Bear,” he said meekly.

“Why does he call him Teddy Bear?” K’Lari asked, her heart thumping hard in her throat.

“Oh it’s just a silly endearment Alice used on him all the time. “Come here Nevy, mommy’s precious teddy bear.” (Giving them an example) “It’s the way she always talked to him.”

Teddy, with effort, brought Neville to him and kissed him, and told him he loved him too. Then he moved his head slightly forward and pulled Neville to him, and closed his eyes to receive his slobbery kiss. Neville didn‘t wait for his grandma to stop him and quickly gave Teddy his slobbery kiss. Neville laughed and rubbed noses with Teddy, and then very carefully put the side of his face on Teddy’s, and gave Teddy butterfly kisses.

Neville looked down at Teddy’s arm and drew in a sharp breath. “Uh-Oh, Teddy Bear’s booboo very ouchie.” He put the Ivy plant to a bandage with fresh blood seeping through it. “Booboo get all better now.” he said softly. He turned quickly to see his grandma huffing and tapping her foot impatiently, but not saying anything so as not to be in trouble with Teddy again. In that short instant, Teddy touched his wand to the bandage. He did an in audible, Scourgefy, spell to clean the blood off the bandage.

“Thank you, Neville” Teddy said to the baby, showing him the all better booboo.

Neville smiled and patted the plant with his little fingers. “Good boy, Ivy Plant, good boy!” “Please allow him to visit me, whenever he wants to, or needs to.”

Mrs. Longbottom took him, and not to gently, but certainly not unkindly. “Oh for goodness sake, he’s a baby, he doesn’t know what he wants, or even needs.” They watched as Neville hugged the plant to him, and they disappeared into the hallway, with Neville peeking around her shoulder, and yelled, “Bye-bye”

Teddy looked at K‘Lari and said, “Babe, please go straight away to the gift shop and pay for that plant. I didn’t have time to go shop for it properly.”

“Consider it paid in full.” said Dumbledore, getting up to leave. “One more thing-”Dumbledore was starting to say.

“Professor, sir?” Teddy said abruptly, and winced at the sudden movement.

“Teddy, you are much too tired and weak for a prolonged visit. You are awake just this morning from a coma you’ve been in, for two weeks,” he said.

“But, sir,”

“Then, if you must,” he said with a patient smile. “You are not a student anymore, but, a friend. Please call me Albus.”

“I never, I mean I want to thank you for getting me away from that snake. You saved my life. If it struck one more time, and if you hadn’t rescued me right then, I would be dead. I could feel my life ending.” Thank you”

“It was worth saving, and you’re very welcome. Now, I must leave, but before I do,” he pulled out a stuffed envelope, and handed it to Teddy. “When you are up to it, Mr. OtterySt.Catchpole has sent you a get well story by none other than, himself. It is called, “The Misadventures and Misfortunes of Teddy Bear Without the Great and Powerful Wizard of Otts There to Save the Day… or aka, Get Well Soon”
