You know, I've wondered that from the very moment we found out about the possibility. In my opinion, Neville would have done a great job as "the chosen one." He would have stepped up to the plate, and though he is a bit more shy and soft spoken than Harry, he would have come out of his shell eventually. That being said, I think Harry would still have been a troublemaker and somehow found his way into the presence of Neville. Harry's character calls for his involvement, and he would have been involved with the downfall of Voldemort, just indirectly in this case.
That would have been a very interesting world indeed.
