Shipper Queen Hippie Quad Chapter 13
“Scoot over.” Aleksander grunted, pushing me to the side.
“You move over. I was here first.” I growled.
“Quiet. Listen.” Jacoby whispered. We both grew quiet and listened to the conversation in the other room.
“She was being very cryptic when I last talked to her, but I do know she is recruiting somebody. I don’t know who, but I recommend you two watch who you get close to.” I heard Uncle Matthaios say.
“Do you know if it is somebody in this neighborhood or at work?” My father asked.
“I don’t know anything. It could be a family member for all I know.”
“Don’t say that Matt.” My mother said firmly.
“Sorry Brown Eyes. I’m just putting all the possibilities on the table.” Uncle Matthaios said, giving her an apologetic look.
“Well accusing my family is not something to put on the table.” My mother said defensively.
“Samantha.” My father said softly.
It was quiet in the living room for a minute or two. I wondered what they were thinking. I also wanted to know what they were talking about. It was all very puzzling the way they were talking.
“Do you think it’s safe to stay here?” I could tell by her voice, that my mother valued his opinion.
“For now I think you are fine. I’ll keep an ear out for you guys though.”
“Thank you Matthaios.”
The sound of people moving came from the living room and I knew Uncle Matthaios would hug both my parents before making his departure. I turned to look at both my brothers and I saw they looked as confused as I felt.
“What did mum mean about it being safe here?” Jacoby asked.
“I don’t know. I haven’t heard her sound so worried since the last time we moved.” Aleksander replied.
“Do you think it’s connected?”
“I don’t know. Mum has always been a worried wart though. She is probably just being paranoid.” Aleksander shrugged.
“You’re ridiculous.” I said, glaring at him.
“Who asked you?” Aleksander retorted.
“Something bad might be happening and you just think mum is being paranoid.” I said crossly.
“Nothing bad is going to happen. Who would do something bad to us? Get real Eli Belly!”
“Don’t call me that!” I growled.
“Then quit acting dumb! Nothing bad is going to happen.” He narrowed his eyes at me, before leaving the kitchen.
I let out a frustrated growl before slumping into a chair near the table. He was so ignorant it was nauseating. How could he not see the danger that might be coming? Did he want to be brainless or was he doing it on purpose?
“Here’s your bowl.” Jacoby said quietly, placing it in front of me.
“Thank you.” I said, calming down slightly. At least one of my brothers wasn’t a complete idiot.
As I ate I began to wonder what Jacoby had met about moving. So I asked him. “What did you mean before. About moving again?”
Jacoby was silent for a moment, his attention focused on cutting a piece of watermelon for himself. “I don’t want to say anything to make your worry.” He said, giving me a skeptical look.
“You think I’m right don’t you? You think something bad might happen.” I said.
“No. I think Mum and Dad have it under control. But whenever Mum gets that worried look on her face when Matthaios visits, we end up moving.”
I thought about it for a moment. I’ve never really noticed that before. But as I began to think back, Matthaios always came to visit right before we moved. I hoped that wasn’t the case this time though. I couldn’t imagine moving around Loanna. We couldn’t move.
