The mouth of the road is barren, characterized by huge rocks and crumbling boulders that leave in one’s mouth the taste of dirt, rusting metal and steady, very very dusty erosion. You breathe, you cough. The sky is orange, ready to kick up a sandstorm anytime. All is dust.

The fork in the path opens up two routes: The left comes to a dead end, a wall of rock and sandstone, and the right leads onwards, farther into the rocks, and you find that the scenery begins to change. Shrubs seem to sprout of the ground, trees commence to rise. Within fifteen minutes, all is green.

Welcome to Forest Delgo.

Delgo starts with a cheerful green clearing but, as you go inwards, the trees begin to grow thicker. There is the smell of wet mud in the air, and you know from it that, somewhere, there is water. Farther in, the starts of a stream begin, and the water gathers speed, transforming into a pure, gushing river as it goes on. Much, much deeper in, there is a waterfall but, for now, you can not see it.

Vegetation is, by no means, scarce. The trees are pretty thick, happy types that do not scare in the least, even at the points where they shut out much – or all – of the light. There are songbirds around but, deeper in, there are other creatures, perhaps wilder, perhaps tamer. Not where you stand, though.

Where you stand is nothing but green land and blue sky.
