Ok, why is it that when your little and afraid of the shadows in your room your mom just flicks on the light and explains that its just the shadows of a chair and a teddybear making them. But then a book comes out that is supposedly a threat to us, but instead of reading the book and making our own decision about it being dangerous, they ( the nutters who want it banned) say don't read it, don't even look at it. If anybody would listen to those nutters then I could take the bible, or any other religious book and say how evil it is so don't read it. I mean the bible has some freaky stuff in it too if taken out of context could be constituted as "evil and satanic" child sacrifice (almost), a ghost that massacres first born sons, a sorceror who can do destructive things( Moses parting red sea and such), but thats not the whole story so I know I would probably be beaten up if I went around preaching stuff like that. I hope people read before they condemn books, they may be missing out on some very important life lessons and morals. |
