Thank you! I hope this gets through people's head! Movies should never be perfect adaptations of their book counterparts. They are separate mediums! Books are told with a lot of exposition. Yes, I agree with you; however, totally changing bits of the story to things that either dont make any sense or -for those who have followed the HP books from the start - don't seem to follow the "spirit," it can be very annoying. Separate mediums, yes, but not a license to butcher, edit, or splice the daylights out of a beloved story. I am not saying that was done w/ the HP movies, only commenting on the topic.
An example that I can think of off the top of my head is having Cho Chang be the one who reported the DA under truth serum, when the actual book version was much better and did not brand Cho Chang as a traitor of any kind. I dont believe that followed the "spirit" of OOTP at all.
