Elder Quad Colton smiled at Breanna who seemed to want to help make his twin feel better. He shrugged. "I dunno. We could get Ash's ball and play wiv it," he suggested. Ash was always ready to play that one game he always talked about. Giving the wrapper to his granola bar to his aunt Eli, the little boy stood up and offered his hand to his sister. They were gonna have fun. No moping around, that was for sure. Ashton frowned. He wanted to play Gaelic football outside. But if mommy said it was too cold then it was too cold. "Oh well," he huffed, grabbing Alice's foot and tickling it. He loved his little sister. He thought she was the cutest little girl on the whole earth, aside from Fee of course. He then turned around to see Natalie coming his way with a big smile on his face. "Okay! Le's play Nat!" he laughed, running over to her and giving her a big hug. She was fun to play with, that was obvious. "C'mon Em," Axel said, following her out of the room. He wasn't sure if she was mad at him or not so he decided to figure it out. He followed her and once she stopped walking he put his arms around her from behind. He kissed her cheek then her neck. Apparently that did nothing for her, but he enjoyed it. "I love you," he whispered, then walked back downstairs. When she was ready, she'd come find him. Apparently she wanted some time alone, or something to that effect. "Tha's righ' Ben! Don't unda'estimate me strangth," Finn chuckled, putting Benji in a headlock then ruffling his hair. Man it was good to be with Ben again. That whole time he was away was hard for everyone, especially because Axel was gone for a lot of that time as well. Now they were together again. He scowled at his friend as he laughed at the ball hitting him. "Ha ha, very funny," he said sarcastically. Axel scowled at Benji then chuckled as he stepped off the last step to the basement. "Wait, you're calling us weird?" he asked in disbelief, pointing to himself and Col. "You should take a look in the mirror my friend," he laughed, nudging him. It was always good to joke around with Benji. Things just weren't the same without him. "Good idea Bre!" Colton said excitedly, jumping up and punching the air. He had seen that on one of his kiddie television shows that he watched with Ember during the day when they were at home with mommy. "Ash! Nat! Wanna play Hide and Go Boo?" he asked the two of them. What a great idea Breanna had! He was excited now. His daddy would be able to help him hide, that was the plan. Hearing his name, Ashton grabbed Natalie's hand and ran over to the group. "Yeah, le's play! Wanna play Nat?" he asked his friend. He kicked his football over into a corner, meaning he'd play with it later. For now, he was ready to play this game. He loved hiding. He and his dad played this quite a lot, when they weren't playing Gaelic football of course. He ran a hand through his pitch black hair, twilight blue eyes searching each of his friend's faces. He was a total replica of his father, that was a fact. Finnegan chuckled at the little ones trying to get a game going. He studied the look on his son's face and smiled. He really did look a lot like him. He even shared his passion for Gaelic football, which Finn loved. He walked over to his wife and daughter, taking Alice from Eli and smiling at her. "'Ello my love," he said sweetly, kissing her on the cheek. Axel sat down on one of the old couches that were stored in the basement and sighed. He looked around the room at all of the children and the adults and smiled. They were all together and it made everything that much better. They were finally at peace and that's all he could ever ask for. |
