Apparantly, Rosamund Pike has told British magazine Now! that she will play Rita Skeeter in the upcoming movie. This Rosamund Pike fan site states that she reportedly told the magazine:

You've all probably seen her in "Die Another Day" (James Bond film). She's blond and young, but very pretty. I can see her playing Rita if they give her a red short-haired wig.
