Like every year in late november - early december in this area, mister winter was working on dropping freezing white fluff around the big white, blue trimmed house; surrounded by nothing but a forest at one side and yards of healthy green grass on the other.
Normally Mrs. Johnson would be having all the kids over. However, this time around most were on their last few months of attending muggle schools, soon enough they would be turning eleven and by september the young dears would be off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
It was best to hold off on having them over, there would always be next year. Anyways, this gave Angelina the option to go with her husband on his business trip. She could never leave the house, and animal's unattended though. Angelina had never done that before, and luckily her eldest grandchild had agreed to come stay and house-sit for the two to three months she would be gone.
Angelina, being..herself, insisted why not invite the whole 'crew' over. It was twenty years ago this year, that five out of the group met. At five years old. Her doing, of course. Now they were all grown adults
making her feel so very old, with kids of their own. While she would have loved to be here to see everyone, atleast they could have their own little gathering while doing as she requested. Not that they all didn't just recently see eachother, probably not all together, but this would be like a small vacation. Like old times? Again. Angelina thought it was a good idea.
Since it could be between two and three months everyone had the option to come and stay if they wanted for however long. She knew each had their jobs, some that couldn't be worked with from here, or from running back and forth. Basically the elderly woman was leaving the planning up to the 'kids'.
Not alot outside had changed over the past couple of years. To the left of the back porch was the small old jungle gym; still in perfect shape from the occasional fixing up to keep it that way. Much further in the distance yet no less see-able, is the little horse-barn. Painted white and blue like the main house. It comfortably fit three fully grown gypsy horses;
Esmerelda,
Cinnamon and
Snow.
The old, very thick oak tree was still going strong. It had been there since Angelina and her husband had moved here many years ago, merlin only knew how old the ancient tree was. It had always been a favorite though, all of the children that were now adults, had loved climbing on it and making things of it..tree house, fort, ect.
The kitchen (like the rest of the house) is in tiptop condition. Pink lilac's are in a vase infront of the kitchen window, not blocking much since all you can see from the right side of the house is a fence and layers of tree's, forming a woodsy area.
The light maple wood cabinets moss green countertops nearly shine in the sun peeking through the curtain. A kettle is sat on a front burner of the silver stove, awaiting someone to turn it on for tea. It appears Angelina either forgot to put cutting board away before leaving, or left it out so there would be no issues finding it, on the center counter. The dishtowel is draped through the handles of the double fridge; a list of emergency numbers and information obvious on the door.
The dining room is connected to the kitchen as well, no doors to push through the entries. The table and chairs easily seat a large family comfortably, high chairs also took places of some chairs for necessary reason. There's a clear, large opening where objects in the room, and the sliding-glass back door is. Giving enough room for people to go in and out, even running kids without likely accidents.
Angelina, had of course, re-decorated the two kid's guest room's to fit an atmosphere appealing to little ones. The first door, closes to the staircase, leads to the room once belonging to her daughter Silvia. Prepared and set up for the smaller children; little toddler beds of different comforter themes to fit their personalities or liking cozily around the room. The one crib in the room, meant for Alice, without a doubt.
A varity of toys placed and set around the room, or in the toybox available for playing with. Stuffed animals found scattered neatly here and there.
The next room right on the other side of that bedroom wall, the next door over down the hall, was re-aranged and ready to go for the slightly older kids; Ashton was the youngest that would be in this room, but his age was no issue. Angelina had only tried seperating the kids a little so it was easier for everyone. The little ones wouldn't keep up the six year olds, ect.
At the very end of the hall is the door to the master bedroom, wide open and welcoming to anyone who wants to take a peek inside the bright, nature-themed room. Off in it's own secluded corner is a batch of recent baby bunnies nibbling on carrot peices and sleeping in a group in their cage, of which were moved into their home that morning.
The rest of the door's down the hall between the master bedroom and the childrens bedroom's are meant for the adults guest rooms. Each closed to prevent a certain kneazle from getting too comfortable in a room he might think he can claim.
If you take the corner at Mrs. and Mr. Johnson's bedroom door, rather than going in, there's another door. Inside is simply stairs, leading into a very dusty old attic.
Back downstairs, the first door on the left-hand side after getting into the hall entrance of the large family-friendly house, is often locked. Though the adults are free to open it and go in, children should not, for it was a small family library and Carl's study.
Keep going down the wood floored hall and you have the livingroom. A pot of floo-powder ontop of a very skinny, tall table right beside the fireplace. The top, like the rest of most of the walls around the place, decorated with many, many pictures of all different people and ages.
The velvet couches of ivy green and curtians of the same fabric color at the sides of the large windows giving the room a foresty feel, with the brown carpet. By now it was probably easy to tell Angelina enjoyed nature. Alot.
