Adrienne snickered as the firecrackers went off by the first years, and was practically pushed to hysterics when Alice sent one to the Gryffindor table. "We...are going...to die," she managed to say through her laughter.
Professor Bennett stood up with her wand raised, and the firecracker went out with a faint buzz and fell to the floor. With another wave of her wand all the food was gone.
"Apparently you do not want to eat your food. So you won't. You will not be permitted any food until further notice. Do not think about nicking food from the house-elves in the kitchen, as they will be ordered to disobey you. You will not eat because of this. Now sit back and ask yourself if it was worth it. You are all dismissed from the Great Hall. Now go!" Lydia snapped, but she was smiling sickly, the very act twisted and cold.
