Continuity: When Tom ushers Harry from the room after speaking to Fudge, Tom uses both hands to lift Harry from the chair. But in the very next shot tom is holding Harry's new schoolbooks on one arm.
Continuity: During his conversation with Fudge, Harry's arm switches position on the back of the chair.
Continuity: After Snape catches Harry in the hallway in the middle of the night, Professor Lupin appears with scratch marks on his face which then disappear and reappear between shots.
Continuity: When Harry is interrogated by Professor Snape about the Marauder's Map in the darkly-lit hallway, the drawstrings on Harry's sweatshirt change position. In one shot, they fall parallel, but in the next shot, they criss-cross.
Continuity: The spot on Harry's shirt in the finale moves from a large, dark spot over his breastbone to a less distinct spot over his right ribcage.
Factual errors: The full Moon is shown rising over the eastern horizon long after dark. But the full Moon rises at sunset. For the Moon to have arisen when it did (assuming the gang exist the Whomping Willow around midnight), the Moon would have to be in last-quarter (left half lit) phase.
Continuity: SPOILER: When Harry and Hermoine go back in time and see themselves encountering Draco, Hermoine punches him while facing him, while before she had punched him while spinning.
Continuity: SPOILER: The 'first' time Hermione threatens Draco with her wand, her free left hand is held up behind her head; when Harry and Hermione are watching after going back in time, her hand is held down at her side.
Continuity: The Marauders Map is lying on the table in Lupin's office, yet as Lupin starts walking out of the office, the map disappears.
Continuity: During Hagrid's lesson with Buckbeak, Hermione's Time Turner necklace is hanging out of her shirt, and the chain is short. When we get to the scene where she uses it with Harry, the chain is longer so she can put it over Harry's neck too.
Crew or equipment visible: When Lupin is talking to Harry about Harry's parents a piece of lighting equipment is reflected in Harry's glasses.
Continuity: In the scene at the Leaky Cauldron with the "Monster book", Harry takes off his left shoe while on the bed, but when he jumps onto the book, his right shoe is off.
Continuity: The buttons on Aunt Marge's blouse dissapear and reappear between shots.
Crew or equipment visible: When Harry blows up his aunt, you can see the cables that she is attached to.
Continuity: Just after Harry passes out on the Hogwarts Express Hermione is wearing denim jeans. A few shots later she is wearing khaki-colored pants
