Acting rather suddenly, Mellie carefully slipped Romeo and Juliet back into her gray purse. After slipping the bag over her arm, she stood up. Mellie was going back to the Hufflepuff Common Room. It was bound to be more comfortable there, even with the obnoxious roar of new and returning students. At least there, she'd be able to get him out of her head.
Unfortunately, the only path leading to the Hufflepuff Common Room from the courtyard where the party was being held passed right next to Aaron. Walking a little faster than usual, Mellie swept past him. She kept her eyes on the ground the whole time, determined not to make eye contact another time. It wasn't until she'd gotten at least five feet past him that she chanced a quick look back. Is it possible that he looks better from the back? Mellie wondered.
The light-haired girl didn't give herself much of a chance to mull this over. She quickly turned back to her path and started walking again. Mellie didn't notice that her beloved journal had dropped out of her purse and was lying visibly on the ground. It was rather ridiculous and pathetic the way that Aaron was starting to feel. Really, why should he be feeling uncomfortable? He had no reason, to feel that way. He had done nothing wrong, and if the prefect wanted to keep staring at him, it was her problem, not his. Yeah, right...
Tired of all the staring, and in swallowing all his pride, he made a choice; He was going to go over there, and ask her what her problem was. Yes, that's what he was going to do. So when he was about to move and make his way to the Hufflepuff, he realized that she was standing up as well. Aaron smirked at this. Surely, she was going to come over and talk to him, after all.
He was wrong
Instead of stopping in front of him, the girl sweapt past him, with her eyes on the ground. Now this was surprising, since he was sure that she was going to come and approach him. His glared at her back. What a weird girl that was. However, his glare quickly fade, when their eyes met once again. She was looking at him, and this time, Aaron didn't look away. Well, he did stop looking at her, when with the corner of his eye, he saw something lying on the ground, very close to where he was.
Narrowing his eyes in confusion and curiosity, he moved and walked to where the thing was. It was a notebook. Well, it was more like journal. A girl's journal. A journal, that most likely belong to her.
His lips curled into a grin, when he opened the journal to read the first page of it, and read the name of the owner. So her name was Melissa Bruns, eh? In his opinion, Melissa was the name for an outgoing type of girl, and this girl was definitely not that type. Well, she didn't seem to be that type, at least.
Now... Should he read what was written in it? Or just follow her and give it back?
What a dilemma.
