Candy laughed at something her friend said. If worst came to worst, she could always go with Ryan, her family's friend. He was a Ravenclaw. She walked over to him to see if he already had a date in mind, to hopefully beg him not to ask someone until she had a date.
Candy? No way. Well, yeah, sure, she was beautiful, but it was his mom's best friend's daughter. He had known her since she was a little kid. "Hey Candace," he said as she came over. She spoke to him in hushed tones and he smiled and laughed in a response. With a nod she left, Ryan shaking his head. He did want a real date, but being "stuck" with Candy wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
She still wanted a boy to really ask her, a real date.
