Casa de Cortella

You arrive at a set of wrought iron gates about a mile from a large house. Once permitted entrance, you ride up the path to a massive house. Mansion is the only way to describe the home Issy has spoken little of. The terrace is large and welcoming, with patio furniture set up around a spouting, stone fountain, on the cobble stones. Wide glass doors await you in the shade of a balcony from above. Once inside, the entrance hall leads off in three different directions.

To the left is the wing where the Cortella parents reside; master bedroom and en suite, an office and Raphael’s library. The right is Issy and Mattio’s wing – two restrooms and a wash room, and two bedrooms, the largest belonging to Issy.

Going forward into the house leads to a spiral staircase and a short hall. Down the hall, to the left, is a communal restroom and washroom. Across the hall is the Family Room, with overstuffed couches and arm chairs, a fireplace, and fancy paintings. At the end of this hall is a large, spacious kitchen with marble floors and granite counter tops, an island and five stools and top of the line appliances. A door in the kitchen leads out back to a sunroom.

Upstairs, the staircase leads to a landing with numerous branches. Both left and right lead to guest bedrooms and beside each are washrooms and restrooms. Across the landing from this is a vast library filled with books, from Issy and Matti’s childhood and on. A door at the back leads to a larger balcony patio, which is above the kitchen and overlooks the backyard. Forward is a door leading to a small balcony that overlooks the front terrace of the house.

Downstairs, outside the sunroom is a patio, similar to the terrace out front. A short distance from the house is a small pool with diving board. Further out is a small pond and a smaller building, similar to the house. This is where Lorelei, the cook, Tomás, the butler, and Fredreich live. Still further out is a barn for Gaia, the pony. Along the path are numerous, numerous trees, some that produce fruit in the early fall.

Welcome to Casa de Cortella.

For the month of July, Issy has invited her friends from Hogwarts to stay for a visit. They've been allowed to bring with them their pets and whatever non-electronic possessions they desire. Most supervision actually falls with Lorelei and Tomás, as Issy's parents are most often away and out of town. Out of the country.

So, what unfolds once Issy has her eclectic group of friends in one place? How do Mattio and Fredreich feel about Issy's new friends? And how does Issy and Callie's rivalry fare under one roof? Can they really survive drama free? (HAH!)
