I've been sitting here at my computer looking through some of the suggestions that have been made over the years and thought, "Wouldn't it be nice to have a thread where we thanked members for the wonderful suggestions?" So, here it is. I know some of these suggestions came from more than one person and that there are many suggestions not listed here or those we haven't implemented. I don't mean to leave anyone out. My brain isn't what it used to be so, I'm listing those suggestions that were written here that have been implemented on the site.
So, first of all, I want to thank EVERYONE for their suggestions over the years. Even if your suggestion wasn't implemented or we changed your idea around a bit, every suggestion is valuable to us and helps us brainstorm ways of making the site better. Your suggestions help keep the site growing, fresh, and new so, please don't hesitate to keep posting in the
Suggestions thread. Thank you!

It wouldn't be too good if you eliminated the Joke Shop from Hogsmeade for this reason - though, you could rename the one where games are played to something else like "Weasley's Wizard Wheezes" or "Gambol and Jape'
A lot of people have mentioned this problem over the years and we were definitely aware of the problem. When we decided we were going to start up a permanent Ministry RPG we changed all the forum names because we wanted to change the "School" forum to "Wizarding World" which was already in use (and our upgraded forum software wouldn't let us have two forums with the same name, anyway). So, we changed all the forums in the former "Wizarding World" category (now "Diagon Alley") to shops in Diagon Alley.

That way, the name wouldn't be broken in half for most people. I know this is probably inconsequential to just about everybody but me, lol, but I just think that, since this will now be seen after every single post we make, it may look more uniform this way.
P.S. Will profile fields be created eventually where we can describe our MoM characters/their wands/their heritage/whatever as well? I've recently taken this suggestion one step further and added line breaks in between the School and Ministry info to the sides of the posts. We have also added a few more fields for the Ministry. Thank you for your suggestions!

There are so many popular ships, with so many supporters; I think it could go really well. The fact that only fan club members can post in fan threads might help to prevent ship bashing too. I know that so many people love to support their ships by use of avvies and siggys; why not clubs as well?
The Seven Seas.... 'nough said.

I thought I saw something like that in the News forum in January but it magically stopped.
We may not have a weekly newsletter but, we do have a monthly newspaper,
Seeker of the Snitch. Thank you for your suggestions!

We did have a podcast for quite a while (thank you, evlpez!) The podcast was phased out as interest waned and the SotS filled the needs the podcast once filled.

As I explained before, the reason we don't archive is because we have so many threads that it takes up a ton of space in the database (and if we'd archived all those threads SS would still be down from yesterday's maintenance snafu since it would have taken 4 or 5 times as long to complete the fixes). However, we now have something in place to prevent post count reductions when we do delete threads. Thanks for the suggestion!

We've added quite a few smilies over the years. Have a favorite, SS appropriate smilie that isn't already in our extensive list? Drop me a PM and we'll see about adding it.

It's not something that would attract people on the site, but it would sure make my life easier...

Is there a way that we can enter our preferences into our User CP and then for every post, it'll automatically appear according to our settings?
This is a suggestion that has bee made over and over again (as you can see). I finally managed to pull it off, too! I can't wait to finally get used to not having to code my School RPG post color.
Again, I'm sorry I can't remember everyone who has ever made a suggestion but, I thought it would be fun to have a thread where you guys could see that your opinions DO matter and that your ideas help us shape and improve SS. So, please keep those ideas coming! Even if we can't implement something now, there's always the future (that default post color thing has been suggested over and over for the past few YEARS and we only recently managed to implement it). So....
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
