Post Wyrd Sisters continue band name lawsuit

In November 2005, a band by the name of the Wyrd Sisters tried to prevent the release of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie when they discovered that it would feature a wizard rock group - The Weird Sisters. Though they failed, the group is at it again. The folk trio is pushing for a $40-million lawsuit and they've asked a judge to order the destruction of any Harry Potter DVDs, CDs, video games or other merchandise referring to the group's name.

Quote:
"The Wyrd Sisters have spent over 15 years working on and developing the goodwill associated with their band’s name," says the statement of claim the group filed in the Federal Court Of Canada in Toronto. "All of these efforts will be nullified as the goodwill is wiped out in the tidal wave of fame associated with the Harry Potter phenomenon."
