the.time.is.now Dear Dobby,
I can't seem to go a Christmas without being sick! Any advice on how to keep from being so ill?
Always,
- Sick on SS
| Dobby says: Preventive measures taken will always help. If you know you get sick at certain times of the year every time then drink lots of OJ or take vitamin C.Echinasea isgoodaswell as vitamins thatboost your immune system. Dobby wishes you well and ahealthy new year. Quote:
Monkey Princess Dear Dobby
How can I keep ten relatives happy and content when most of them are under 10 years old?
Yours,
Going crazy on X.mas
| Dobby says: There are many prescription tranquelizers available today that may help. Just put the recommended dose in their Kool-aid and in a few minutes, peace and quiet! But, Dobby jests of course! Dobby thinks that a constant schedule of activities that keep them occupied will not only keep them in one place but also wear the little "angels" out so that they go to bed early and give you some peace. Alternate indoor and outdoor activities and try to keep them interesting so they stick with it. Oh, and make sure you have lots of healthy snacks and beverages at hand so they don't become distracted and lose interest in the planned activity. A child with a full tummy and something fun to do is a happy child and a happy child makes it alot easier on you! Quote:
jukjuk78 Dear Dobby,
I have 2 problems.
1.) My twin sister "pet-sits" (babysits the animals) and all the people that hire her mostly have small annoying dogs. It drives me out of my mind because half the time the dog has to sleep in my bedroom (me and my sister share a room) or it barks all the time. Do you know how to make dogs shut up with out yelling at them or feeding them?
2.) She is petsitting this dog right now and it wont stop following me around and putting its head in between my feet when I am trying to walk. Please how would you get this dog to stop?
Your Newest Biggest Fan,
I Hate my Petsitting Sister (well not her just the dogs)
| Dobby says: Try talking to your sister about the problems you are having with her "business". Maybe she can find an alternate place to keep her dogs. As far as dogs barking, they do so if distressed or to convey an emotion. Like babies, dogs can't talk so they make noises to try and let you know how they are feeling. The dog probally misses it's owner and is trying to make it known. Try to show the dog affection and attention to calm it down. Yelling only makes them more distressed and feeding only rewards the behavior. As far as the dog thatis constantly getting in your way, it just sounds curious and perhaps playful. Whenever, it does it, stop, get it's attention ansd firly tell it no. Be consistant in this and after a while it will get the hint. Dobby wishes you luck! |
