Chapter 34

Harry reappeared in the living room. He saw Hermione helping Ron up the stairs. They were going slow but they were getting there. She turned back when she heard him reappear and gave him a shaky smile. He then walked to Mrs. Weasley’s unusual clock. Finding Ron’s face quickly, he saw that he was moving from moral peril to home.

Sighing with relief, he heard Ginny’s voice.

“They are probably just outside somewhere. You worry to much.” She was saying.

“This isn’t funny Ginny. Where are the boys and Hermione?” Mrs. Weasley’s said sternly. Instinctively, Harry walked into the kitchen.

“I’m here Mrs. Weasley.” He said. Ginny’s eyes turned to his, as did Mrs. Weasley’s.

“Harry! We’ve been looking all over for you. Why are you in those clothes?” Mrs. Weasley asked curiously. Harry looked down and realized he was suppose to be in his dress robes.

“Oh…Um…” Harry stuttered. He heard a soft cough escape from Ginny and he looked over at her. She pointed with her eyes to the cup in her hand. Barely moving, she tilted the cup like she was going to spill it on herself. Mrs. Weasley was still gazing at Harry, so she didn’t notice Ginny.

“I spilled pumpkin juice on myself. So I went upstairs to change.” Harry said quickly. Ginny gave him a wink and took a drink from her cup.

“Well, where are Ron and Hermione?” Mrs. Weasley asked.

”I think Ron got tired and went to bed and Hermione is in the bathroom.” Harry made up. He hated lying to Mrs. Weasley, but he couldn’t tell her what really happened.

She eyed him like she knew he was lying, but walked outside instead.

“Thanks for that.” Harry said turning to Ginny as soon as Mrs. Weasley was out of earshot.

“Sure. Are you three ok?” Ginny asked.

“Yeah. Well, Ron will be ok. That’s what Hermione said…”

“What do you mean he “will” be ok?” she asked.

”Well, we kind of got into a little trouble-“ But Harry didn’t finish his sentence before she was walking toward the staircase.

He followed after her as she made her way up the stairs. She walked with determined footsteps, as guilt began to seep into Harry. This was all “his” fault. He was stupid to let them come with him. He should’ve done this alone.

Ginny pushed open Ron’s door without knocking and walked inside. Hermione was sitting on the side of Ron’s bed looking down at him. Ron was lying on his bright orange bed, gazing up into Hermione’s brown eyes. Hermione looked away as she heard the door open and Ron’s eyes closed painfully.

“Ron! Are you ok?” Ginny said and rushed over to her older brother. His face was as pale as a ghost. It also looked like it pained him to move. He could be a lot worse, but Harry felt bad for putting him in this condition in the first place.

“Do you mind not announcing it to the world?” Ron said grumpily, glaring at her. At least he still had enough in him to be his old grumpy self.

Hermione stood up and let Ginny be with her brother. “He’ll be ok.” She said to Harry. Her eyes were bright and clear, even in the dark. Harry could tell the event had shaken her up tremendously, but she was masking it behind her soulful chocolate eyes. She looked over at Harry and gave him another shaky smile.

Harry sighed and walked out of the room. His hand was shaking when he closed the door behind him. Blame and guilt was running through his very veins as he walked away from Ron’s room. He really didn’t want to do this alone, but he couldn’t let this happen again. What if something worse happened next time? He wasn’t going to let this happen ever again. He wasn’t! The hard part was going before it did happen again.

Hope you all liked it. And I hope it was worth the wait

Will be posting more later
