Chapter 2

Her head was spinning and everything she could think of seemed to be gone. She had to have been unconscious for at least a week, because there was no way there could be this much change in her pregnancy over a period of one night. Her eyes weren’t even open yet, but she automatically reached up and ran a hand over her stomach. She took a deep breath, but the scent she inhaled was not the one she was used to. She was used to inhaling the scent Harry had, the scent she had tried so long to identify but couldn’t. The scent that intoxicated her and made her go weak by just the slightest tease of it. But instead of that, she only inhaled the scent of wood furniture and freshly washed sheets. Her eyes fluttered open, and she knew this had to be a dream. This was not the house she lived in. This was not the room she and Harry called their bedroom. This was not the bed she and Harry slept in, holding each other close each night.

This was a room unfamiliar, and slightly unwelcoming to her. She looked around and the sight before her was one most likely only a rich person could like. The floor was covered in beautiful hard wood that matched the dresser, nightstands, desk and bed she was currently lying in. The walls were painted a mint green and had skinny silver stripes sliding their way down them. A large window was near the bed and another was on the opposite side of the room that held a bench for sitting and peering out the window.

She felt her hands around the sheets and realized no one was with her. Usually Harry was lying next to her, breathing deeply, but this was not the case today. The usual white sheets she slept in were replaced with mint green sheets that mirrored the walls. Everything was green around her. She had never been too fond of the color green, regardless if she had been in the Slytherin house at Hogwarts.

The sound of scurrying feet interrupted the silence that had filled the room. Farah looked over to see a small house elf scurrying out of the room.

The elf ran as fast as its weak little legs would carry itself. He went up several flights of stairs and finally reached the door it wanted. Turning the knob as quickly as possible, the house elf burst through the door. He knew that this was major news, and his master would want to know immediately, so he was speedy, for if he didn’t follow rules, he could only fear the worst.

“Master, the young miss awoke,” the house elf squeaked.

The man was standing in his large, spacious office. He was standing by a window next to his desk, peering out at the largely spread green lawn that surrounded the house.

Regardless if he was twenty, the man barely looked his age. He was tall with pale skin and platinum blonde hair. His chest was tightened in muscles and his arms were long but too covered in muscles. His appearance had changed only a bit since his days at school. He had only become more muscular since then. His gray eyes flickered over to the door where the elf stood, trembling and out of breath from all the running. The master said specifically that he didn’t want house elves to apparate around in his house.

“How is she?,” the man demanded, his eyes back on his yard.

“Fit to be visited. She looks better, master. Better than when she came here,” the elf replied.

The man’s insides burst open with excitement, but on the exterior, he remained composed and still.

“You may go,” he told the elf.

The elf nodded and disappeared, running down the stairs to break the news to the other elves.

The man stopped looking out the window and made his way out of his office. He walked down the hall and climbed down the many flights of stairs until he was on the hall she currently resided on. He tried to gain calmness, but it was hard. He was too excited to be able to see her like old times, to be able to talk to her. To just hear her voice. To look into her brown eyes and feel weak in her presence. It was almost too good to be true. But there was no way she could escape. So it had to be true.

He passed by a mirror and checked his reflection. He fixed the white shirt he was wearing and pushed aside some strands of hair. Turning, he made his way to her door and quietly opened it.

And there she was. The most perfect thing he had ever laid eyes on. He held back the gasp, admiring her beauty. The only thing that had changed about her since Hogwarts was the little pooch which announced that she was with child. Being pregnant seemed to give her a soft, beautiful glow, making her appearance more heavenly than it had been before.

She looked up and her eyes caught his by surprise. Their gaze stayed locked for several moments, those moments turning to minutes.

“Farah?,” he asked weakly.

“It can’t be,” Farah gasped in a whisper. “Not you…”

“It is me,” he replied.

“No. You can’t be,” Farah said.

He slowly stepped forward. After what seemed like an eternity, he reached her bed and sat down next to her, gently resting his hand on hers. She pulled her hand back quickly.

“Draco, how could you!,” she yelled.

Draco stood up facing her, unsure of what to think or say. He had never planned that she would be outraged. He had overlooked that she would be mad. He had just wanted her to jump into his arms and hug him and give him the kiss he had longed for since their eyes met in first year.

“What do you-,” Draco began, but he was cut off.

“Why the bloody Hell am I here? Take me home!,” Farah screamed.

“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” Draco said.

“Why?,” Farah spat.

“Because I won’t ever let you go back to that stupid Potter, that is why. Do you not realize what he did? He took you away from me. And I will never let that happen again,” Draco said, his voice just barely over a whisper.

“What do you mean ‘took you away from me’? Don’t tell me you-,”

“Yes, Farah, I am in love with you. And I have been ever since first year,” Draco cut her off.

She let out a gasp of shock. So the rumors and all at school were true. He had been in love with her. She had been too ignorant and caught up in Harry to notice.

“But Draco, we were just-,”

“Just friends. You could never guess how many times I’ve heard that. You don’t know how long I longed for us to be more than that. To be more than just friends,” Draco said.

“No, you’ve got to be kidding me,” Farah said.

She rushed up past Draco and ran for the door but it closed as soon as she was close to it. Farah tried to rip the door open, but it was no use. The door wouldn’t budge. She didn’t have her wand with her, so she couldn’t do any magic to open it. She looked over to the window. She picked up the tray some old breakfast had been sat on, and swung at the window, but as soon as the window shattered, it magically repaired itself to become whole again. She tried again, but the window repeated the process. She attempted again, but Draco caught her wrists in midair.

“Please calm down,” he breathed in her ear.

She yanked herself from his grip. “Calm down!?? YOU KIDNAPPED ME!”

Draco looked away.

“YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN!?? YOU KIDNAPPED ME, DRACO!,” Farah exclaimed. “LOOK AT ME WHEN I’M TALKING TO YOU!”

She yanked him by the arm and made him look at her. His happiness and excitement all melted away as rage and anger filled its spot.

“I’LL DO WHATEVER I WANT TO! SO GET USED TO IT!,” Draco replied just as loudly.

He pushed Farah’s arm off of him and she pulled her arm back and punched him right in the mouth. Draco spit some blood out of his mouth and roughly pinned her against the wall.

“I loved you,” he muttered. “But you denied me for that saint Potter…you were always there. I thought the signs were, as well. I’ve always loved you.”

Farah’s madness seemed to fade away quickly. She wrapped her arms around Draco’s neck and rested her head on his shoulder, crying uncontrollably. He was so shocked by her sudden change in mood that he didn’t know what to do. But then he remembered that pregnant women had insane mood swings. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around her waist.

“I’m so sorry,” Farah cried.

“Not as sorry as I am,” Draco replied, resting his chin on the top of her head.
