Thanks for tellin' meh, Adge! I read and posted xD
Things finally get interesting... I did my best to keep this chapter as dark as possible without it being too weird.
Who knows, you might grow to like Cody...
And along with getting to know Cody, you might realize Deanne's choices aren't as easy to make

Enjoy

P.S: I am aware that I used at least one characteristic from Twilight (the eyes). You’ll see what I mean
Chapter 5
Cody
That evening, I walked around the grounds with Harry shortly, but continued alone. People still wandered around, mostly couples that enjoyed to be alone under the moon by the Black Lake. I gagged at the thought, but that might be because I’m not ‘taken’. Whatever.
Lighting my wand, I wandered along the edge of the forest and on the shoreline, just inches away from the lapping water. I heard movement behind me and spun around. There was nothing. Sighing, I turned around and continued down the beach, occasionally stopping to look around for the noise. I finally got too weirded out and turned around to go back to the castle; it was getting late anyways.
As I walked back down the shoreline, I saw a human figure hiding in the shadows. Suddenly, a hand reached out and grabbed me so fast I didn’t have time to blink. This person’s grip was tight; I couldn’t escape no matter how hard I struggled.
“Quit it!”
I stopped dead. That voice, I knew that voice...
“Cody?”
The figure emerged from the shadows. I recognized Cody’s pale features, shaped perfectly into a face any other human would think of as extremely beautiful. He stood a good half-head taller than me with a muscular build hidden under a button-down shirt and jeans. His eyes were black with golden flecks in them, framed by his dirty blonde hair. I knew why he was here; he wasn’t here
just for me, and that alone worried me.
His teeth shone when he smiled. I rolled my eyes and tried to pull out of his grip.
“Not so fast,” he said, his smile now as soft as his tone while his other hand lay at the base of my throat, his thumb caressing just below my jaw line. I flinched at his touch, and grimaced at his tone – he knew full well it worked on me as much as it did on any other person... unfortunately.
“What do you want?” I snarled, growing irritated at ever move he made on me. “You’ve already made me resort to here; there are no more schools I can go to.”
He chuckled. “I’m not here to reveal your ‘secret’.” He said the word with such contempt, it startled me.
“Then why’re you here?” I snapped.
He gave me a hard look.
“Hungry?” I asked, smirking. “There are harmless muggles you could get easier. Why come here?”
“Muggles aren’t as fun. Besides, you’re here...”
“Why are you such a sadist?” I growled, cutting him off.
“You think I torment you and
enjoy it?” he asked curiously, his darkening eyes glittering.
“You’ve pushed me this far across the continent,” I responded, smiling innocently.
“We could go farther if you like...”
“Don’t you dare,” I snarled, anger rising within me at a rapid pace. “I could’ve killed you many times, yet I spared you.”
“Why did you spare me, then?” Cody asked me, a new smile growing.
I glared at him, and when his other hand started to toy with my hair, I slapped it away. I kept my steady angry glare on him, hoping it would make him at least a tiny bit uncomfortable. On the contrary, he was rather relaxed. He was never relaxed, especially this far into his hunger...
“You can’t imagine harming me, can you?” he pressed, stepping closer. His face was now inches from mine.
I didn’t respond.
“You can never stop loving a vampire,” he whispered.
“Yes, you can,” I snapped back, whispering as well. “Watch me.”
Taking him off-guard, I made contact with his lips. After a few moments, just as he was getting into it, I pulled away and ran. The sensation of his cold mouth on mine lingered as I ran faster, adrenaline pushing me on. I hated him, I hated everything about him. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, let alone who I am. I hated him...
Yet how come I can’t shake his sensations from me?
