Amazon.com reports that they have earned $80 million for the third quarter. Thomson Financial analyst's estimated they would achieve 18 cents a share this quarter, but they managed to beat that with 19 cents a share. Their revenue rose 41% this quarter to $3.26 billion thanks to massive sales of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
At the same time last year, Amazon.com earned $19 million (5 cents a share). They enjoyed sales of $2.31 billion ... I suppose one can make the assumption that Harry Potter helped boost Amazon's sales by 1 billion dollars!
