Harry Potter movie rights are owned by Warner Brothers which is an American franchise hence making HP an American movie by proxy. If you want to act in a movie sanctioned by an American movie mogul like WB, you MUST belong to SAG. It's their union.
What I don't get is, why June 2008? That's six months away. They need that long to plan a strike? Stop working...now! That didn't take much. I understand why they're protesting but the delay is just humorous. |
