#11. Expecto Patronum
It had been weeks since Lily had talked to him, and Snape, although feeling rather guilty for calling her a Mudblood, was refusing to beg for forgiveness. He had already apologized, what more could she want? But his heart was breaking everyday, as Lily pushed him farther away and James Potter was stepping in closer.
“What do I say again?” Lily asked James as they stood under the stars in open space on the school grounds. Lily held out her wand, eyes locked with James as his silver Stag pranced in front of them.
“Expecto Patronum,” James said as he beamed at her. Lily repeated the words and from the tip of her wand a silver doe appeared. It pranced along side James’ stag and the seemed to be in sync with each other.
“Wow,” Lily breathed with amazement as James stared at her, watching the silver cascade over her face and hair, causing the red strands to sparkle. She noticed his gaze and leaned on him, resting her head on his chest. Snape watched from behind a pillar, glaring at the two of them. He loved and loathed Lily Evans at that moment and no feeling had been stronger. |
