I kind of like that he doesn't normally speak of Snape and HP in general. It makes it easier to see him as other characters I think, and it keeps up Snape's hard edge in the films. It's like how Jason Isaacs says he doesn't reply to fan mail so that kids still think he's a cold guy like Lucius,
