That's true though, they didn't exactly state which passage it was, if it was in the beginning, middle, or the ending, or if it really contain a spoiler. Because after all, it could've been some random set of paragraphs which doesn't say much yet still has the theme of "Saying Good-Bye."
But then again, I have to agree, they should've just chosen a previous Harry Potter, seeing as they pretty much all contain that particular theme or one close to it rather than pick the 7th and last book which many still haven't read yet and read from it. Ah well...
