I was the exact same, I started mine in 3rd grade when the teacher read the book to us as the "class reading time" book, I got hooked. I also remember going to a book fair and picking up CoS and PoA from the shelves, my mum said I could only buy one so I chose CoS so I could read them in order. I then borrowed books 3,4 and 5 from other people. Brought book 6 and 7 myself and will one day, own the whole collection to persuade my children to read! It's been such a long journey, its so sad!
And I will miss Ron so much as well, he was and always will be my favourite character!
