Harry Potter sat in the garden of the Weasley’s backyard finishing up a letter he had been writing.
“Hey Harry” Ron called from the doorway of the house “What are you doing?”
“Just writing a letter to Sarina” he replied.
Ron walked over and sat down beside him “you miss her don’t you” he remarked as Hermione also sat down with them.
He looked at his two best friends, he had not told them what had happened between Sarina and himself that night at the Ministry, he sighed “it’s complicated.”
“What is?” Hermione asked gently.
“Sarina saved my life on numerous occasions that night at the Ministry. She put her life on the line for me she was prepared to die just to save my life” he looked off into the distance and said in a faraway voice “she told me she loved me.”
Ron looked at Harry astonished but Hermione sat there with a smile and a knowing look.
“I’m guessing you already knew that” Harry said to Hermione.
“I’ve known for a while now” she said simply, Harry opened his mouth to protest but she cut him off “it was not my place to say anything Harry, it was up to Sarina.”
“Wow that’s intense Harry, what did you say?” asked Ron.
“I didn’t know what to say” Harry said picking at the grass “there was a lot going on we were hiding from Voldermort and Bellatrix and Sarina had been hit by that curse and she couldn’t breathe properly and I don’t know I was in shock, it just came out of the blue” he added anguish in his voice.
They all sat in silence for a moment all thinking of that night when Harry spoke again in a quiet voice “we kissed and it was one of the sweetest and most exciting things that have happened in my life.”
Ron sat staring at Harry with his mouth open; Hermione was almost bursting out of her skin with joy.
“Oh Harry that’s wonderful” she gushed “it sounds to me as though you are in love too.”
“Just hold your horses Hermione” said Harry seriously “I don’t know whether I’m in love or not I haven’t had too much experience with these things and besides after what Dumbledore told me about the Prophecy I don’t want to be putting her life in danger by getting involved with me.”
“Oh Harry” Hermione whispered “all our lives are in danger now, you deserve to be happy.”
“I am happy and I’ll be a lot happier knowing that I haven’t been the cause of another death” he said firmly tearing up the letter he had just written.
Hermione was about to tell him he was being stupid but Ron shook his head and gave her a warning look that said the subject was closed. She sighed he deserves to be happy when is he going to realise that.
Sarina was sitting in the attic of her aunt’s house staring miserably out the window. She had been spending the past three weeks up here ever since the holidays had started. Her aunt’s kept asking her why she was so down and kept on suggesting things to cheer her up. As much as she loved her aunts they couldn’t make her happy right now, there was only one person who could do that and he was keeping his distance she hadn’t heard a word from him since end of term.
She turned away from the window and looked around the attic she had been going through parents belongings and sorting it out but she didn’t feel like it today. There was a loud bang from downstairs, she groaned her aunts were supposed to be cooking a special meal but by the sound of that noise it didn’t sound as if things were going well. She descended the spiral staircase that was at the back of the house and which led into the kitchen.
She reached the bottom step and looked around there was no-one in the kitchen, that’s strange she thought the oven was on, where did the noise come from. She started towards the door and had only taken two steps when the door flew open and there stood none other than Bellatrix Lestrange.
“Well well we meet again Miss Taylor” sneered Bellatrix.
Sarina stood frozen to the spot and looked at Bellatrix who was pointing her wand at her, Sarina felt the panic and fear rise up through her body; her own wand was upstairs in her bedroom.
“Not so cocky now are you?” she said in a deadly quiet voice.
“Where are my aunts?” asked Sarina panic stricken.
“They’ve been taken care of just as you will be in a minute” laughed Bellatrix.
Sarina looked around the room there was no escape she wouldn’t be able to make it back up the stairs in time and there was nothing close at hand that she could use as a weapon, only a mug sat on the bench in front of her. She looked at Bellatrix, blow this she thought if she’s going to kill me I’m not going to give her the satisfaction of thinking I’m scared.
“Did your boss send you here to do his dirty work” Sarina said mockingly putting her hands on her hips.
“Yes he wants you out of the way” she growled “and I personally volunteered for the job, payback for that night at the Ministry.”
“Oh so that’s it is it, poor Bellatrix is upset because she was upstaged by a sixteen year old. God your pathetic” Sarina said scathingly.
“Why you little, it’s about time someone shut that smart mouth of yours” Bellatrix raised her wand and opened her mouth to utter a curse.
But Sarina had picked up the mug from the bench and thrown it as hard as she could, it hit Bellatrix in the forehead she let out a grunt of pain and stumbled backwards. Sarina was upon her in seconds she took Bellatrix’s wand from her hand and bent it against her knee she heard a crack and she flung the wand aside. Then she grabbed Bellatrix by the front of her robes and whispered in her ear:
“Let’s battle this out the old fashioned muggle way shall we.”
She pushed bellatrix away from her and then slapped her across the face, this only incensed Bellatrix further she returned Sarina’s slap with one of her own and then she lunged forward grabbing hold of Sarina by the hair. Sarina lost her footing and they fell backwards she flung out her arm to break her fall and it hit the oven which was hot and she felt her arm burn. They hit the floor Bellatrix on top of Sarina.
“Get off me” panted Sarina pushing with all her might to get Bellatrix off her.
Sarina struggled to her feet just as Bellatrix was getting to hers. Sarina wasted no time she kicked out at Bellatrix and hitting her in the chest she fell backwards into the wall opposite. Bellatrix ran at her and Sarina moved out of the way sticking her foot out sending Bellatrix sprawling on the floor. Bellatrix got to her feet again and she made to hit Sarina but she blocked the punch, Bellatrix took another swing at her but Sarina blocked it again, Bellatrix let out a howl of frustration.
“Not so cocky now are you without your wand” Sarina yelled.
Bellatrix made to lunge at her again but Sarina had- had enough she dodged out of the way grabbed a rolling pin from the table and knocked her on the head, Bellatrix slumped to the floor. Sarina stood over her panting she knelt down and checked her pulse, she wasn’t dead just knocked out. She tore out of the kitchen and into the living room to find her aunt’s lying on the floor.
“Nooo” she screamed and threw herself onto the floor beside her aunts just as the front door burst open and four people came streaming into the house. She recognised them at once: Moody, Lupin, Tonks and Shaklebolt.
“Sarina are you alright?” Remus Lupin asked concern in his voice.
“Yes I’m fine, how did you….?”
“Your aunt’s alerted us that Bellatrix was here” growled Moody “she got away I suppose.”
“No she’s on the kitchen floor knocked out” gasped Sarina.
Moody made to go forward when the door to the kitchen burst open and Bellatrix Lestrange stood there looking crazed and deranged.
“AVADA KEDAVRA” she screamed pointing her wand at Sarina there was a flash of light and Sarina crumpled to the floor.
