^ Dumbledore didn't say remember my last letter. He said, "Remember my last, Petunia." The word 'letter' wasn't there in the Howler. This means that Dumbledore might not have been refering to a letter. I don't think Dumbledore mentioned letter to Harry either, but I could be wrong, I have just started reading the fifth book after a very long time.

Did JK say that it was a letter? Well...If she did...then it obviously was a letter.
