The first part of Hermione's life was definately all Muggle. Her parents were surprised when she got her letter for Hogwarts! This upbringing probably cost Hermione some self-esteem due to her being able to do certain things others could not...making her an outsider at school. She may have even been teased badly, hense her seeking solice in books. I do not think, due that both her parents were dentists and that job requires mostly daytime hours, that Hermione was home schooled. She probably doesn't talk about it because it is painful to her.
