Hogwarts RPG Name: Luna Ignatio Moore Graduated | Woo! This is the first chapter typed up on my new laptop
I don't have word yet so there is no spell check, so if there are spelling errors, sorry Neva's secret
Luna dashed up the stairs to the Slytherin Girl's dorm room. Flinging the curtains back from around her bed she wrenched open the suitcase she used to hold the few earthly posessions she had and managed to pull out an old set of quidditch robes that she had managed to buy from one of the younger slytherins who didnt want to sign up for the quidditch team but their parents had baught them robes anyway.
She was about to run from what she thought was the empty dorm room when she noticed Neva curled up in ball with her pillow. Luna hesitated. She was late for the tryouts for the slytherin quidditch team but seeing Neva curled up in a ball made her stomach clench. Deciding that the team could wait 5 minutes, she approached Neva's bed.
"Hey Neva." she spoke quietly as if any loud noise could shock her.
When Neva spoke, it was a sickly sweet voice, as though she was hiding something from Luna. "Hello Luna." she said in an effort to sound cheerful.
Luna gave Neva a sideways look, "Are you okay Neva? You seem a little..." she paused, thinking of the word to describe it, "I duno, different." she said with a small shrug, there were better words in her vocabulary but none of them fit.
Neva closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. "I'm fine. Really."
Raising her eyebrows disbelievingly Luna tried to pursuade Neva into talking. She wasn't nescasrilly bothered but it did pique her curiosity. "Come on Neva, I know something is wrong. I told you what was..." she broke off, "...is still wrong with me."
Neva bit her lip. "It's nothing that is likely to spread around the school and thus incriminate me so it is hardly the same." she said, a hint of emotion seeping into her soft voice.
Luna shook her head. "Well if it isn't likely to spread around the school then what is the harm in telling me? I told you something that is very incriminating." she said, a slight tone of accusation in her voice. "If it is incriminating or not, it is still really the same. A secret for a secret." she said not completely certain that she herself understood what she was saying, let alone Neva who was rolling her eyes.
Luna was dissapointed that Neva wasn't opening up to her but quickly a fury grew inside of her, replacing the dissapointment with a voice that bellowed out through her mind.
She doesnt trust you
Luna's eyes narrowed
You trusted her
Luna's hand twitched over her wand
Kill her!!
Luna grabbed hold of her wand and moved to whip it out of her pocket but at the same time she made a movement to stop herself, the un cordinated movement toppled her over and she fell to the floor with a smack.
It didnt take her long to be back on her feet though, she had survived much worse falls and it wasn't the first time she had done something like that. She had done the same thing down by the lake and was hoping it wasn't becoming a habit like the twitch in her arm.
"So why won't you tell me?" she asked calmly as if she hadnt just fallen over in the midle of a conversation.
Neva sat up from her curled postition by her pillow. She gave Luna a calculating look and cocked her head to the side as she spoke. "I think the more valid question is, what's wrong with you?"
Luna let a small grin flash across her face. This was her home territory. Her problems.
"Well there is a lot wrong with me, always has been, always will. Sure it is a more valid question but a more interesting question is what is wrong with you?" Her voice was ever so slightly happier than the moment before, it was subtle enough for Luna to pick it up and it made her even more happy, in her strange way. Though all her humor tended to be strange and only funny to herself.
Luna stepped back from the bed when Neva jumped up and rammed the curtains that encircled her closed.
If Luna hadn't been so suddenly in such a happy mood she would have exploded with rage, but she simply tugged at one of the millions of knots in her hair and smiled.
She called over to Neva through the curtain. "Don't worry Neva, I shall find out one way or another." she said cheerfully with a tiny hint of threat and malice in her voice. She sat down on her bed pleasantly looking at the curtain that hid Neva, the quidditch tryouts completely gone from her mind to be replaced by a strange numb happiness.
Hearing Neva sigh, she suddenly realised that about 14 people were all waiting down on the quiddictch pitch for her and in one swoop she scoop up the abandoned robes from the bed and leapt up and out of the room. |
