Fields of Disappointment

Luna was stood in a large green field. She saw her sister Racheya running towards her, her black Hogwarts robes billowing behind her. Luna looked down at herself, she was wearing some strange grey overall. She shrugged it off and ran towards Racheya. She ran faster and faster, it seemed important to reach her before something terrible happened. She wasn’t sure what it was though.
Racheya stopped in her tracks as Luna raced towards her. Racheya was within touching distance when Luna felt herself being pulled back by something. She just wanted to hug Racheya. To let her know she hadn’t left her but she was pulled further and further back, away from Racheya.
Luna looked down. She had shackles around her ankles and wrists connected by thick black chains to two dementors that were dragging her back. Further away from her sister.
Luna struggled against them, trying to reach Racheya but she couldn’t fight them.
She looked at Racheya, her head was bent low and a puddle of tears had gathered in the grass below her. Racheya looked up at Luna.
Their eyes connected for a second and Racheya shook her head slowly and gave Luna a look that would haunt her forever.
She gave Luna not of anger, of hatred but of disappointment. Luna had let her down and was now going to pay the price.
Tears filled both the girls’ eyes as Luna was pulled further away from her sister by the two dementors.
She felt a prodding sensation in her stomach. A few seconds later she felt it again, this time followed by an inexplicable warmth that raised from her toes to the top of her head. There was a flash of light.
Luna lay on the cold, hard floor of Rodinth’s kitchen. Her eyes flickered open and she lifted her head.
Her body was stiff and her stomach was feeling funny. She wasn’t concerned about that though, she was busy trying to recount her dream.
She remembered everything that happened as though it was real. Her sister, the dementors, Racheya’s disappointment. She couldn’t ignore what she had just experienced.
“Luna…are you okay?” asked Rodinth. He was bent over her with his wand in his hand.
She nodded her head slowly.
”Good. I’ve been trying to revive you for the last few minutes… I haven’t really done a reviving spell before so it took erm… a few attempts.” He said helping her to sit up.
“What happened?” she asked groggily. She still couldn’t get the memory of her dream out of her mind. It was so vivid.
“I think you were hit with a stunning spell when you were in the fireplace just as you flooed.” He said uncertainly. “Come on. We've got to get you out of here.”
“Why?”
“Well it won’t take the ministry long to find out where we flooed to. You need to hide.” He said calmly.
Luna stood up quickly when Rodinth said she needed to hide. She wouldn’t let herself be caught now.
Rodinth lead her out of the kitchen and outside onto a large winding stone path that lead from the house and branched out like a spiders web over the large fields that surrounded Rodinth’s house.
It was the middle of the night and Luna could barely see the paths but luckily for her Rodinth knew where he was going as he began to run, following one of the paths. Luna followed him and after forcing the dream away from her mind she had caught up with him.
“So where exactly are we?” she asked as they ran.
“Draley Woods, where I live in Sweden.”
Luna stopped. “Sweden? You said you lived in Switzerland!” she said accusingly.
Rodinth stopped and blushed a little. “Sorry… I wasn’t sure if I should trust you or not.”
Luna gave him a patronising look. “Oh so that’s how it is?”
“Sorry, but you know… I only just met you.”
“So? I trusted you.”
“Luna! We need to go now!” he said angrily.
“What if I don’t trust you.”
“Luuuuna! Do you want to get caught?”
Luna looked down at her shoes. “No.” she muttered.
“Then lets go!” he said grabbing hold of her arm.
Luna jerked away slightly. The dream where she was dragged away by the dementors was still haunting her mind.
Giving in, Luna ran with Rodinth down the winding path until they reached a large barn.
Luna followed Rodinth in and looked around the spacious, hay filled barn. It was quite warm in there and Luna had a feeling that it would soon become her home.
“If you can hide in here and stay here without my parents or anyone else noticing you could hide for weeks, even months.”
Luna nodded.
“It’s not too bad really.”
“Better than nothing eh?”
“Yeah I guess.”
“I’ll call by in an hour or so.” He said turning to leave.
“You’re not going to stay?” asked Luna sadly.
He shook his head. “Sorry, but my uncle will be back any minute and we don’t want him looking around for me.”
Luna looked down at the floor.
“No, I guess not. Well see you soon.”
Rodinth waved as he left the barn.
“See you!” he said running out of the large door and out into the open.
“Yeah. See you.” She said quietly sitting down on a stack of hay. This was going to be a long night.
