A library in Carlyle is said to be hosting a Potter festival to celebrate the release of the new Potter film and book on July 7th 2007. They believe that the Potter books have successfully encouraged children to start reading again.

Sharon Berdeaux said the festival is planned to precede the release of the last of seven books in the Potter series on July 21 and the release of the fifth Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," on July 13.
She said the Potter series has encouraged children to start reading again, and the library hopes to capitalize on this popularity.

Berdeaux said activities will be held outside, and it is hoped this festival will be the first of some annual events at the library. This festival will include crafting, free refreshments and probably a costume contest.
There will also be live owls who will fly around the site, weather permitting
