Perhaps more schools should look into the Harry Potter theme. It seems to be a hit, and it creates an atmosphere suitable to facilitate learning.

HALTON High's Harry Potter summer school came to a climax after two weeks of fun and learning based on Hogwart's most famous pupil.

Halton High head teacher, Cathy Densmore, said: "It really was a fun-based curriculum with subtle learning taking place, which the children do not even realise is happening.

"It is a great partnership project which benefits a wide variety of people including the new Year 7 pupils, prefects, mentors, support staff and teachers."
