Hogwarts RPG Name: Eunice Murray Fifth | Cedric’s Butterfly – Sa16+ Cho and Cedric were the golden couple of Hogwarts. How did that exactly happen? And how did it end? “Cedric’s looking at you again, Cho,” Marietta whispered in my ear as we ate breakfast in the Great Hall. The ceiling was cloudy, yet the sun still shone through. It was going to be a cold day. The view from the windows showed snow swirling outside.
Taking a subtle peek at Cedric, who was smack dab in the middle of his friends at the Hufflepuff table, I met his gaze for a second; he blushed and looked away, as did I.
“You two are so cute,” my other friend, Isabel, cooed with a grin. “He’s bound to ask you out one of these days. Maybe to the Yule Ball! Just think about it: going up there, in front of all three schools, arm linked with the real Hogwarts champion.”
I ignored Isabel’s insult to Harry and fixed the picture that she’d just described in my head. I must admit it was very appealing. And I knew that Cedric liked me. I liked him immensely. My friends told me that Harry fancied me as well, but I was merely flattered by his attention; Cedric was the one I had eyes for. I didn’t go for younger men, typically.
My friends and I were soon finished our meal and decided to run back to the Ravenclaw common room to fetch our winter clothes, since it was Saturday. I spent a little more time in the mirror, making sure I looked alright. Who knows? Maybe today Cedric would ask me.
As we trudged outside in the few inches of snow, the crisp air surrounded me, making me thankful for my warm scarf. We heard some male voices coming from around the corner; they sounded like Hufflepuffs. Moving in one body, all of us girls crept up to the corner, hidden, and listened.
“C’mon, Ced, just ask Cho out. She won’t say no,” the Hufflepuff boys prompted. “What’s there not to like? Good looks, good grades, good athlete, good man, blimey, you have it all.”
After a slight pause, Cedric’s voice was heard: “Alright, alright, I’ll ask her sometime today, or this week, at the latest. Satisfied now?”
My friends and I squealed silently.
We could hear the other boys thumping backs and giving high fives. This was our queue. We stumbled away from the corner, my friends primping me up, fixing my hair and making sure there wasn’t anything in my teeth. We stood in a huddle in the Hogwarts yard.
I saw Harry and Ron pass us and pause momentarily. All of us looked at them, my friends having the we-dare-you-to-ask-Cho-out-but-know-you-won’t-do-it expressions on their faces. This seemed to scare the poor fourth year boys away. I felt a bit sorry for Harry, to be honest.
Then Cedric meandered up to our group, bundled in his yellow and black Hufflepuff scarf and followed by his own band of jostling friends. My friends parted, revealing me, like the Red Sea. It was completely embarrassing. I could feel my cheeks begin to blush.
“May I have a word?” Cedric asked me with a slight smile, cocking his eyebrow expectantly. My friends twittered. Post Two Post Three Post Four Post Five Post Six Post Seven Post Eight Post Nine
